Foto Friday

I keep telling myself I can do this! I can post every Friday! So I WILL!

These photos are from the other day when my little sister did my hair. She loves doing hair so every once in a while I am patient enough to let her do mine. I always have to have something to do while she's fixing my hair or else I get bored and think about how much she is pulling my hair! So, this time I took pictures. It was very distracting to her, so I eventually had to stop. ;P But, here are the pictures from Laura's Hair Salon!

(By the way, this is a reflection of a hand mirror. How cool does this look??)

Have a great weekend! Hopefully I can scrap some this weekend!

Foto Friday: A Baby Shower

This past weekend we went to a baby shower, so I wanted to share some of the pictures of the tables for this week's Foto Friday! There was a sweet table and a salty table. I took most pictures of the sweet table. More fun, right?

And a random picture of a flower at the house where the shower was.

Everyday Eclectic & A Color Combo

Today I have a couple of projects I have made for some challenges. I have been busy with some design team work and it seems like I have hardly any time for free-scrapping!

I just bought an Everyday Eclectic collection kit from The Scrapbook Princess and I had to use it on a layout! The colors in this collection from Echo Park are just GORGEOUS! I love that both white and kraft look amazing with this collection. I have gotten to where I love using white and kraft as the bases for my layouts! As for challenges, I made this layout from the sketch this week at Pretty Little Studio and then I also incorporated the Frosted Designs Friday challenge to use a journaling card on your project. I used a lovely little bookmark tag journaling card from Pretty Little Studio. PLS has the cutest journaling cards!! I loved how this particular card matched the collection so perfectly, even though it is not from the Everyday Eclectic line from EP.

(On a side note, have you seen the Christmas products that Pretty Little Studio sells?? I just bought a lot of their Jingle Bells collection and I want to purchase their NEW Christmas at Home line. I love vintage mixed with Christmas! If you are interested, check out the Jingle Bells line here and the Christmas at Home line here.)

On to my card for today. This card is for the ScrapFIT challenge to use Navy, Gray, and White. This card looked prettier in my mind… I like how the colors work together so beautifully, but then again, I feel like this card is missing something. Anyone care to help me out?

Anyways, hope you have a great Wednesday! Come back Friday for some fabulous Fotos on Friday!! (I will get the pics posted this time!) :P

Thoughtful Thursday

Have you checked out the Thinking*Through*Design blog today? There's a new thought up on using lists for journaling.

I used my NEW October Afternoon Woodland Park collection. [love]

And here's a little fun fact about this page. I had cut out my letters and I didn't like how pattern-y they were. So.... I colored them with markers!

Now, go hop on over to T*T*D and check out everyone elses' pages!

Marvelous Monday... Card Projects

Whew- this weekend was very busy! I did a lot of chores plus helped my dad move my little sister’s furniture into my brother’s old room. And I helped move my brother’s furniture into my sister’s old room. Ugh-- I am so not a muscle girl…

Anyway. I did manage to get some cards made this weekend between everything. First, I am going to share a card that I made for the ScrapFIT challenge to use TWINE. I loooove using baker’s twine, and so of course I snagged this opportunity to use it! I have always thought it would be cool to write something in twine, so I used that technique on this card. First, I lightly wrote the sentiment with a pencil. Then I applied some Glossy Accents and twirled the twine into place. Last I cut out around the words. I like how it turned out!

As for the card itself, I used Cosmo Cricket’s 2wenty Thr3e line for everything except the twine! I have always thought this collection was uber-cute because of the colors! The way the patterns are, though, is not my style at all! I still love it though so that‘s why I used it on this card. When I showed the finished card to my sister (the one I go to for all opinions- whether I actually listen her opinions them or not), she said, “It’s cute… not your style, but I like it!” I think this card is more of her style, actually.

Here’s card #2 I did this weekend! This one’s for the PHONE challenge over at Frosted Designs.  When I saw the challenge, I immediately thought of the Neapolitan Bisque line from Jillibean Soup. This line has all kinds of cute little phone icons and little sayings and pus to go along with the phone theme. Jillibean is one of my all-time favorite companies, so of course I had some super kind of fun making this card. One thing I really like about this card is the “IMPORTANT” journaling card I used as kind of a matting behind the embellishments. So it looks like the sentiment reads: “Important: Keep in Touch.”

And last but not least, my favorite card that I made this weekend. Again, I used Jillibean Soup goodies. But not the same line as the last card. This time I used the Coconut Lime line from Jillibean. This card is for the BIRTHDAY CARD challenge over at the Jillibean Soup Blog.

They’re having a 4th birthday party and one of their challenges is to make any kind of birthday card! I used a TON of patterns on just this one card. I think I counted 6 different patterns. I think that’s a record for me. ;) And you wanna know my favorite thing about all the cards on this blog post?? I designed them all! Yep- I came up with all 3 of these cards by myself. It always makes me feel good when I design something myself instead of using a sketch or lifting someone else’s card because I feel like the card is REALLY my own.

Ok- thanks for bearing through a long post on a Monday! Maybe it gave you something to do. :) Keep checking my blog because I *should* have some fun sneak peeks of what’s going on in my scraproom soon!

Foto Friday

I'm going to be starting a new feature on my blog- Foto Friday! I'll share a couple of pictures I have taken each Friday of the week. I hope to start some more fun stuff to liven up my blog a bit, so stay tuned! And of course, I'll be posting my usual challenges I participate in.

I borrowed a lens from the guy I bought my camera from. It's a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II lens. Because the aperature is so low, it makes great "light bubbles" (what I call them). I will have to buy this lens SOON! I looooove it! It does fabulous photographing scrapbook projects as well. ;)

Disclaimer about this photo: This isn't our dog. It's our neighbor's. ;)

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Fall!

I just thought I'd share a fall card I submitted to Paper Crafts that didn't get picked up. This was the only card I submitted this particular time (which was really back in the spring). I used some stamps that I had bought from the $1 section at Walmart. I loved the sentiment!!

Have a fabulous day!

I [heart] Pebbles Inc.

I am sharing a card today that I made about a month ago for my friend, Jillayne. I used some Pebbles Inc. Sunny Side mini papers. I have just discovered Pebbles and they are one of my favorite brands!

I used some clear letter stickers from Pebbles Inc. also. I wasn't sure about using these-- I remember when clear stickers were "in" and I hated them. And now I have some more, but instead I love them. The chipboard flowers are from Pebbles also.

So what brand have you just discovered that you [heart]?
