Happy Halloween! :)

I made this little treat bag for my little sister at school. I am in the Big Brothers/ Big Sisters program in which I get to go to the Middle School once a week and just talk and play games with my little. She's so sweet and I made this for her just because it's Halloween! Of course, there's candy in this little goodie bag. ;)

P.S. Sorry for the iPad pictures... its faster to post this way.

A Lot of Misting

Can you believe it? I actually misted a whole background!! I wanted to use my wood grain transparency and so I masked a circle on the upper left the same size that I was planning on making my transparency. I then used some blue, pink, and brown mists to sprinkle some messy dots on the page. After that, I finely misted the whole background in yellow! So different from my style, right? Well, whether you said yes or no, I think it's something totally different for me. It was fun though! It wasn't quite as messy as I thought it would be. I thought the mist would smear and stuff, but I used mostly Tattered Angels mists and they worked fabulously!

By the way, I used this week's Pretty Little Studio sketch for this layout. I interpreted the spider web into a circle base and then the other web in the right bottom into a journaling card. Again, I used my lovely Everyday Eclectic line from Echo Park for this layout. I'm totally LOVIN' this line! ;)

Thanks for visiting today!

Almost Forgot... Foto Friday!

I almost forgot to post my pictures for Foto Friday! Here is my new ride... I am planning on selling my Mustang and using the money I get from it on fixing u this car! You might ask, "Why in the world would you want THAT car over a Mustang??" Well, this car is my DREAM car. I have always wanted a 2-door Chevy Cobalt. And this car gets a lot better gas mileage than my Mustang.

Having Fun with some Sketches

Happy Friday, everyone! I actually had some scrap time last night. I had saved some sketches from Pam's blog here on my iPad and so I played along with her sketch challenge! (Click here to go to Pam's blog.) The first card I made using sketch #225c. I dug out my Pink Paislee "Vintage Vogue" collection for the first card. I love all the little paper embellishments that are in this collection. I feel like you can't tell I used a sketch on it since I covered up most of the base where the rosette it.

As for the second card, I used sketch #c1 from Pam's blog. The moment I saw this sketch I thought if washi tape. The sketch was so perfect for using washi!!

A Birthday Layout

Hello there! I am sharing a layout that I made a couple of weeks ago with supplies from my local scrapbook store, The Scrapbook Princess (click here to go to the TSP blog). I used some Hip Hip Hooray papers from My Mind's Eye. The colors are so soft and pretty. I like that these patterns are not just for birthdays. There are a lot of neutral patterns like polka dots and houndstooth. I had a Mister Huey that matched the color palette in this collection perfectly, so I used it along with a chicken wire mask from Crafter's Workshop that I bought from The Scrapbook Princess to make the background. You can't really tell the chicken wire pattern in the mist, but I kinda like the subtle look of it.

Supplies Used From The Scrapbook Princess:
- American Crafts "Boardwalk" Thickers
- Studio Calico "Cameo" Mister Huey
- My Mind's Eye Hip Hip Hooray papers and die-cuts
- Melissa Frances pearls
- Chicken Wire mask from Crafter's Workshop
- "This is True Happiness" stamp from Elle's Studio

It's Blog Hop Time!

Hi! And welcome to my stop on the Number of Photo Blog Hop! I haven't participated in a blog hop recently, and I have kinda missed it! **If you didn't arrive here from Amanda's Blog, then go back there and start the hop.**

My number of photos I used on this layout is 1. I loooove doing one-photo layouts. Maybe because then I get to focus more on the products I use than worrying about how I'm trying to get ten bizillion photos to fit on one page... I'm no good at putting lots of photos on one layout.

I used my new Echo Park Everyday Eclectic line for this layout. I just love the brightness of this line. And better yet-- it's paired with the kraft tone! I did something a little different to the background paper this time. I started out with a piece of Cosmo Cricket woodgrain embossed paper (from Core'dinations), but I didn't like how the color was. It was kinda a creamish-brownish drab color. Sooo I solved my problem by sanding the paper and then dabbing some white Mister Huey all over the page. I sprayed the mist on a kleenex then used that to apply the mist to the page. I loved the outcome! It washes out the woodgrain a bit so that you can see the color but it does not distract from the page.

As for the title, I used a lyric from a Kenny Chesney song. I don't even think that I have listened to the song hardly, but it came to mind. It's a two way title, really. First, because of the song... don't blink 'cause the next thing you know life will be so different than in this picture, and two, the girls were about to close their eyes because of the sunshine (If you have ever tried to take a picture like this... I call it a pinwheel... you know how hard it is to keep your eyes open because you're looking straight into the sunshine!)

Oh- one more thing. Here's what the journaling says:
"Laura's 14th birthday party was a BLAST! All of the friends Laura invited were so sweet and fun! They had fun posing for lots and lots of photos- per their request! Sept 22, 2012"

Ok! That's it for me today! Hope I have inspired you with my one-photo page! I'm sorry, I don't have a prize this time. I haven't had time to even think about it; I've been so busy. Maybe next time! I'd love to hear your comments of course, and if you like what you see, I would be honored if you would become a new follower of my blog! Now head on to Jen's blog for some more inspiration!

Just wanted to pop in to share this picture of my birthday cake yesterday! :) My little sister actually took this picture. Isn't it awesome? I had candles that spelled out "Heather" on my wonderfully good tasting (and looking) cake. Catch you later!

Happy Birthday to Me (and a T*T*D)

First on the agenda of today- my 18th birthday! I love birthdays, and not because it's all about me. I love how much better it makes a day! You actually look forward to going to school or work because you KNOW it'll be a great day because it's your birthday.

Today also happens to be a day that a new thought is put up over at Thinking*Through*Design! Yay! This week's thought is on burlap. When I saw the subject this time, I thought What a cool idea! With burlap being so popular, it would be neat to see everyone's ideas on using it!. I love burlap. But to be honest, it's kinda daunting sometimes because it won't stick with regular scrapbook glue! My solution: sewing. I love machine sewing and so I thought this would be the perfect solution to my problem.

Here's my thought that I wrote about my layout:
Burlap- what a cool texture to add to scrapbooking projects! I love the awesome "feel" that burlap adds to layouts. I originally thought of layering burlap with my patterned paper on this page, but then the idea popped into my head that I could use burlap for a background. I tacked the burlap on the page with a little help from my ATG (glue runner). A tip on that-- put your glue on the paper, NOT on the burlap. Burlap is very loosely woven so if you try putting a glue runner on the burlap, the burlap will stretch and look terrible. And you will be disappointed.

So, after I lightly adhered the burlap to the paper, I stitched around the edges of the burlap a couple of times with my sewing machine, adding an "X" pattern through the center of the page to help secure the burlap. I really like this technique because it holds the burlap very well! After that I just built my page from there! One last thing- I thought the duck saying, "Dare Devil" was too funny. I have had this journaling card (from October Afternoon) for a while and never thought of a clever way to use it. Now I can say it is on a page!

I would love to see YOUR ideas about using burlap! Link up your works of he{art} HERE at T*T*D!

Fall is Here!

I love Fall. Cool weather, watching the leaves turn, biking in the evenings, getting to wear sweaters and scarves, thinking about Christmas, my birthday, the list could go on and on. I LOVE Fall.

I usually don't buy Fall themed scrapbook stuff because I usually don't take any pictures (or enough to count, at least) and I am not normally crazy about fall colors in product lines. Well, this year is an exception. I bought some of Simple Stories' Harvest Lane and I am in love. The colors are so cute and the little apples and jars in the collection raise the [love] factor, like 10x!

This week's card challenge over at ClubCK is to ink it up! So I got out my Fall paper and got to work. I thought the inking would look good on a Fall card.

And I decorated the inside too! I bought a lot of Fall stamps last year in the $1 bin at Wal-Mart and so I used one of the sentiment stamps and the leaf stamp for the inside of the card.

P.S. Wanna know what's on my birthday list?
Click here. I think it would be cool to have one of these! I think I would really use it. Countdown till my birthday: 4 days!

Happy Friday!

I love Friday's. I am looking forward to a stress- free weekend! I have gotten a lot of my things on my "to-do" list finished this past week and I'm ready for a weekend where I have NOTHING SCHEDULED! Right now I don't have one thing planned but scrapbooking and maybe studying for the ACT.

I made some Christmas cards for my grandma, and here is one design I did. My mom and I did these tonight. Enjoy my photos!

And lookie here- I have my own personalized stamp now for the backs of the cards I make! I ordered it from Stampin' Up!.
