EXCITING Announcement (and a Giveaway!)

Hello! It's Saturday, so you know what that means?? Time for some EXCITING news!!!! Ready for it?........ I am on the new

Design Team! Woo Hoo! (see? I updated me blinkie on the left of the blog1) I'm so excited about this! I love washi tape and it will be so much fun getting to show you different ways to use washi! :) Click HERE to go to the LMT Blog and see who else is on the team!

Now just because, I want to do a giveaway! I thought now would be a good time to do it. I have been sorting through lots of scrapbook stuff and I have a box of goodies to send to someone!

Some of these products have been slightly used. Like for example there might be one word used from a set of Thickers or a couple of stickers gone from a page of stickers. They're still quite useable! I also have included new stuff too! So, if you want to enter into the drawing, there are a couple of ways to do it.
1. Leave a comment.
2. If you are a follower, leave me an additional comment telling me so. If you aren't a follower, become one and then leave me a comment!
3. Share this giveaway. Facebook, blog, message board, etc. If possible, leave me a link.

I will leave the giveaway open through next Saturday, April 6th. I'll pick a winner Sunday AM and post it here.

Thanks for stopping by!

So Much Cuteness

Hello! I'm back with a layout I made just because! It's not for any challenges or design team projects! (speaking of design teams, I have a special announcement on Saturday!)

I printed this picture I took of my cousin's little boy on Monday and I just had to go ahead and scrap it! :) I used some Simple Stories Sn@p product that I had for my Project Life. But instead I used it on this layout!

That's about it for today! Make sure to come back Saturday for my special announcement!! ;D

A Tutorial for an Easter Card

Easter is this coming weekend! So, I thought you might enjoy a little tutorial that you could use to make some Easter cards or other goodies! This tutorial is on how to make a cute little flower (or Easter egg) out of just a strip of paper. Here's a peek of my project, but you'll have to visit the Pretty Little Studio BLOG to see the tutorial! I'm such a meanie, aren't I? ;P

I love sketches!

Have I ever told you how much I love using sketches in scrapbooking?! I do! I really do! It's so fun to change little things about the sketch and come up with a layout that's all your own!

One thing I like to do to change the look of the original sketch is to rotate the sketch. I took THIS sketch from Pamela's blog and rotated it so that I could use a horizontal photo. I took out my Seen & Noted collection from Pebbles and in just a little bit, I was done! I think this is my favorite page I've made with Seen & Noted. Sometimes the color combo just doesn't work right, but I like how this one turned out.

Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!

Favorite (and having fun with feathers)

Ok so I hadn't tried the feather trend on my layouts until now. I personally don't think feathers fit on scrapbook projects, but when I saw THIS challenge over at Scrapbook Circle, I thought I might just try feathers out. I dug into my little sister's craft supply, which is in my scraproom, and found some beautiful bright pink feathers I thought I might be able to incorporate with the Uncharted Waters collection from Glitz. PLUS, there's a challenge going on at the Glitz blog to just make a layout using mostly Glitz goodies. It's a partnership with the Gossamer Blue kit club. How cool is that?! I used a lot of what I have! Unfortunately, I only own the papers from this collection, so I didn't use a TON of their product, but I still think it turned out pretty spectacular!

Something I'm trying a little different is lightly adhering my projects together. This adds some dimension to my pages, which I've been lacking for a while. Well, some of my recent layouts have been lacking anyway. I like the "popped up" look between each layer of paper. Love me some paper. :) I diecut the title with my Cameo (I need to buy a new mat and blade SOON) as well as the arrows.

Thanks for stopping by! Next week is Spring Break for me-- yippee!!

How Lovely

So how's your week going? Good? I hope so. I've had a pretty low-key week. I had went into school at 10:45 each day this week because of graduation exam testing (which I have already passed). So, it's been nice and relaxing. We've been looking into some things that involve BIG changes for our family and I'm soooo excited about it!! I will post more on it after we finalize some things. That is, if we decide to go ahead with what we're planning. ;)

I finally broke into my Maggie Holmes collection that I've had laying around for a couple of weeks. I'm bad about buying stuff when It first comes out and then not using it until a couple of weeks or months later. So, I thought I'd let my Maggie H stuff gather dust no more! And let me tell you... it's my new fave. You know how sometimes you can buy something and then start using it and it just doesn't work for you? For some reason or another, it just doesn't flow with your creativity like other stuff does? Well, this line flows with my creativity perfectly. I can't help but think of Maggie every time I use this line! I added a few "Maggie" techniques in there, like using my pen and adding some messy underlining on the photo, overexposing my photos a bit, and of course, just using "Maggie" papers and embellies! Speaking of embellishments, have you seen these little bows yet? They're adorable!! I keep trying to save them, but really I should just go ahead and use them. When they're gone, I'll probably be ready for something new anyway. I really want to try to make some of these bows myself. It looks easy. I think I've pinned a little tutorial on Pinterest on how to make some of these. I'll try it sometime and let you know if it works. ;)

These photos are from a little photoshoot I had of my little sis last week. I actually took them at my dad's work. Can you believe it?! I liked the white tin building for the background. Im a big fan of neutral backgrounds. And wanna know something interesting? My little sister already looks differently than she did in these photos-- she has braces now!! She just got them yesterday. So for the next 2 1/2 years, I'll only have pics of her with braces. Wow... My lil sis is growing up!! :( But I guess that isn't all bad. ;)

Oh and by the way, I used a sketch from Scrap Your Story. Click HERE to go to the challenge!

Birthday Cake {PLS}

Hello there! I forgot to post this yesterday, but I have a new layout up at Pretty Little Studio!! I used the new "Birthday Cake" line for my page, and I really like how this layout turned out! I used the sketch that Keri made and I rotated it to begin with. The rotated sketch for better with my photo. I used lots of of different products for this page- Polaroid frames, tags, paper, little tabs, and lots more... Including a couple digital cut files for the title. Yes, Pretty Little Studio now sells digital cut files! How cool is that?!?! I have always adored the font Melissa uses for everything PLS and the fact that I can cut it out with my Cameo just makes it even better! So, go check out my layout on the blog by clicking HERE and in the meantime I'll be here at home having fun scrapping because I'm out of school. ;)

Story

I'm back to share a layout that I made for the Love My Tapes challenge. It's a review challenge, and I thought since I just bought some new washi from Freckled Fawn, that I would play along!!
So here was the challenge (click HERE to go to the actual entry page):
1. Use a negative(s)
2. Use 5 different washi tapes
3. Use ONE word
4. Use handstitching
5. Use an envelope

I have so many projects to share here on the blog... Just not enough Internet time to post them! Ahh! So I'll try to do better and post again soon. :)

It's Friday!

Oh, I'm so glad it's Friday!! I'm looking forward to some shopping at the mall tonight. :)

I lifted a layout on Club CK for this layout. I basically enlarged the design of THIS original page by neeceebee. I used some ah-mazing Glitz Design Uncharted Waters for this layout. I love ts collection. The color combo is just beautiful. I even pressed some flair with my button press just for this layout! And how do you like those speech bubble journaling spots? Aren't they awesome?! They're from Pretty Little Studio. And they're fabulous.

I documented a typical day for me. I usually don't scrap pics of me, and I really liked this one I took with my iPad in my mom's car. I thought it'd be cool to scrap a regular day for me!

Something else about this layout... I tried to mist on my background paper, but for some reason it wouldn't dry and it basically just came right off. But I wanted the misted look, so I got out some acrylic paint and a craft stick and got to work! I went over where I had misted before, and I think it looks a lot like regular mist!

That's it for today! :)
