Spring Banner

This week is Spring Break for Laura and I! Yay! We don't have any big plans. Just relaxing and going shopping. :) (and of course crafting!) I still have to work Tuesday, Thursday, and a whole day on Friday, but it will be ok. It will be so awesome knowing I don't have any college work to do! I worked my tail off last week getting things finished before Spring Break, so I'm more than ready for this time off. After I get back, though, I will only have 5 weeks left of this semester! :O My, how time flies. I'm excited.

So in celebration of Spring, I made this simple little banner to hang in our kitchen. Originally I was going to make some flowers to hang in my room somewhere, but then mom asked me to make a banner for the kitchen and, well, I couldn't tell her no.

I used a burlap banner from Crate Paper that I got in my Craft Market prize box. Then I embellished it with some handmade flowers. I used some dies that I have had for a while along with my Cuttlebug to make each flower. I just love the dimension the hand rolled flowers gives!

(I actually couldn't get a shot of the entire banner in one photo because I was using my 50mm fixed lens and we were on the deck. :/ Oh well, this is most of it.)

I just grabbed some papers from my stash for the flowers. Nothing too special, just some colors and patterns that I thought would be pretty made into flowers and butterflies.

I used hot glue for making and attaching the flowers and butterflies. I have decided that hot glue is my best friend when it comes to adhering something permanently.

So there you go! A simple and fast banner. I mean, I'm pretty sure this took me, like, and hour to make. Have a fabulous week! :) I know I will!

New Card+New Video

I uploaded a new video to my YouTube channel! :) I was thinking about it, and I haven't made a card process video yet! So, I fixed that. Click HERE to watch the full video.

I used some papers from Studio Calico's ODYSSEY kit and also some AWESOME new alphabet stamps from Kelly Purkey's "Clearly Kelly" line for Hero Arts. I love her graphic design, and I love these stamps so much.

So yeah... I'm wrapping things up at college today so I an fully enjoy Spring Break next week. I'm ready for a break!!! :) Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Love These Moments

Every once in a blue moon, I create a project for a challenge and then forget to post it by the deadline. Arg. Such as it was a couple of weeks ago. Guess I have other things on my mind besides getting my cards or layouts posted in the challenge time frame. This happened on TWO occasions. [sigh] Oh well. I looooove what came out of those challenges though, and I guess that is all that matters, right?

One challenge I participated in was the Elle's Studio sketch challenge. I love Stephanie Buice's style and when the sketch was based off of one of her pages, I was like "I have to do this!" Click HERE to visit the sketch post. I loved the diagonal design of the page. I just LOVE paper and the excuse to use lots of it on a layout is definitely an okay-thing for me! :)

I documented something super special in my life right now on this page. Sometimes dad and I get to eat lunch together because he works, like, ten minutes from the college. It is so much fun getting to be with just HIM. It's like having little daddy-daughter dates in the middle of the week. LOVE it. And I love that I documented it on a layout.

Texture is my fave! Glittery frames, wood veneer, mist, stitching, ooohhh.....

It's something how certain pages mean so much to you. And this is one of them for me. I just love my dad. :)

Hello!

With each day, my love grows for you, oh cardmaking. ;)

I just love cardmaking. Even when I tear a card apart 3 times to get it perfect. Such as the situation with this card! I kept messing up on the stamping of the sentiment. But I finalllllly got it right on the third try.

It seems like re-doing is something I'm good at. LOL Lately it seems like everything I make, I redo it at least once. Ah, well. Guess it's just teaching me patience and perseverance.

I was totally in love with the Studio Calico ODYSSEY PL kit and so I splurged and bought it. Along with the 4x6 paper pad because I love paper so much. I used the paper pad for making this card. I'm totally ga-ga over that black and white aztec pattern!

Anywho, I need to go get some college work done on this rainy Sunday afternoon! See ya soon! :)

mambi HAPPY PLANNER™

I have my very first planner pages to share with you today! :D These went up on the me & my BIG ideas blog yesterday, so if you're interested, click HERE to visit the whole post there.

Sometimes the thought of planning out a week and making it look pretty is, not gonna lie, kind of stressful. It's like, "What do I put on there?!" But then I think of how I can include my activities at college and the (seemingly small) things I need to do each week. My absolutely favorite item in the Create 365™ The Happy Planner™ system is the skinny paper pads that you can tear off pages and put them in your weekly spread (the striped paper in this spread). They make me super happy. :D

Something I did to help me start making this spread "pretty" was use a color combination. I used teal, red, and yellow, along with basic kraft and b/w. This helped me a lot to just START SOMEWHERE because there are so many cute items you can add into your pages. Sometimes it's hard to choose what to use! This helps narrow it down.

Adding little bits to remind me to be happy. :) And yes, that is gold foil)!

Here you can see that the list and foil quote pages are removable and you can view the whole week at once.

Sticky notes and stickers. The puffy ones are my fave (the !).

So there you have it! That's what my week looks like at a glance! :) I'm looking forward to sharing more Create 365™ The Happy Planner™ pages soon!

Oh, and learn more about the system by clicking HERE. In case you're interested.

Project Life Album Share

Hello! Happy Monday to everyone!

I am sharing the first few spreads from my 2015 Project Life album today, along with a YouTube video walkthrough of my album so far this year!

First things first, click HERE to watch the video. :)

Here are the only spreads I have actually taken photos of (oops!). It's only the first few pages, so these are from the first part of January. I will try to take pics of all the other spreads soon, but for now you can just see them in my video. ;)

(This very first spread is one of my faves. I think it's the machine stitching that I love so much.)

(I did a process video on this spread, if you want to check that out.)

I'm pretty proud of myself that I made a video of my album. Now you can see how I'm doing Project Life this year! :)

Everyday Tags {mambi}

These tags were up on the me & my BIG ideas blog earlier this week (click the link to see the whole post on their blog along with the product list for these tags),  and I now need to get them up on my personal blog! So, here are some tags I made with some awesome new products from mambi. New papers, stickers, and chipboard. I love new stuff. Don't you?! ;)

I picked some specific products to use before I got started on these tags. Choosing products beforehand makes it way easier to decide what things to use as you're creating. It also makes the projects you make look cohesive since you're using the same supplies on each thing.

(in-process photo)

Misting and machine stitching- two of my favorite things.

I hope you enjoyed this project! I just love making tags. :) Happy Friday!!

Crate Paper "Craft Market" Tags

I have this thing for making tags. I'm learning the more and more I create that I love working in small spaces. That's why I love cardmaking, tag making, and Project Life. I have been drifting away from making traditional scrapbook pages, but that doesn't mean I don't make one or two layouts every now and then. ;)

With that being said, here are some tags I made with the brand new "Craft Market" line from Crate Paper. When I won the whole line from Crate Paper's CHA giveaway (you can see all the loot in THIS previous post), I immediately wanted to play with all the pretty products. I didn't really have any plans for these tags, I just started layering away! I love all the different elements you can include on a single tag.

Glitter and gold foil!! Oh my!

The wooden embroidery hoops are one of my favorite items from this collection. I mean, how CUTE are they?! Adds such awesome texture, too.

I'm also a huge fan of word strip stickers, and there are two colors in this line-- kraft and white with gold embossing. I love mixing them!

Do you like making tags? I have no idea what I will use these on, but I like having them on hand for whenever the occasion arrives that I need one!

P.S. How do you like my new signature^^?! I just made it! I think it makes my blog posts seem more personal. :)

I'm Doing Good...

... at not posting consistently. LOL Every time I think, "Ok, let's keep the blog updated!" something happens and I go without posting for a long time. I wish I could make blogging go in my schedule, but then I stress about it and I HATE being stressed about fun things like that.

So instead of stressing, I will just go ahead and post something since I'm thinking about it. ;)

I made this layout a couple of weeks ago, right after we got back from celebrating Valentine's Day at the beach. My favorite time to scrapbook photos is right after something has happened. Right after we get back from a trip or immediately after I take a photo so I don't forget the significance of the snapshot.

This photo was one of my faves from the beach. What's funny about it is that I am not the affectionate one when it comes to hugs and kisses. Like, hardly at all. Laura, on the other hand, is very touchy. Sometimes we will be talking while sitting on my bed and, eventually, Laura will touch me somehow. Whether it's laying her head on my lap (or sometimes her feet... ick!), giving me high-fives, hugging me, or... I don't know what else. She just always SOMEHOW makes skin contact with me. LOL

So when Dad was taking these photos, I decided to be crazy ;) and act like I was kissing Laura on the cheek. You can tell she was like, "What are you doing?!" C'mon Laura! It's Valentine's Day! <3

I used mainly items from the Studio Calico Cirque kit. Although I am no longer a subscriber to SC, I do have friends that send me bits and pieces of the kits! :) I think I have said it before, those gem stamps are my favorite. I was so inspired by the way that April Foster used the stamps on one of her layouts, "TWO." Stamping these gem outlines on patterned paper makes me super happy.

Alright, that's it for right now. I hope you still enjoy reading my (sporadic) blog posts. ;) Let me know what you'd like to see more of! Cards? Process videos? Project Life spreads (that I have yet to post)? Life posts? Have a fabulous week!

Scrapbook Layout: Love You Like Crazy {The Cut Shoppe}

Hellooooo! I have a new layout up on The Cut Shoppe blog today. It's a nice and spring-y page, so I'm excited that I finally get to share it!

I used the awesome Rosey Posey cut file for this page. I focused on using just ONE cut file on my page rather than putting several different files together. I just love the bold, yet feminine, feel this floral diecut gives to the overall page.

I love getting a little bit artsy on my pages, so I used some gesso on the flowers as a first layer. Once that dried, I added some acrylic paints. Some of the paints I used are from Studio Calico. Those Color Theory paints actually have a bit of a shine to them. At first I was like, "What in the world?!" but now I really love the sheen. Sometimes you don't want that dull acrylic paint look… so Color Theory paints come to the rescue! :)

Besides the paints, I also used another cool item on this page: a transparency. I won several Bella Blvd. transparencies from their CHA giveaway (yep-- there's one of the things I won!). I think this woodgrain print is my fave. I just looooooove it. Actually, there's a clouds one I really like too. Usually I'm not a transparency fan, but something in me has changed and now I love them!

Thanks for stopping by!! :)
