Hi! Welcome to the Spring 2011 Blog Hop! I am so excited to be participating in the hop this time. I have just gotten my blog up and running in the past couple of months, so come by again sometime to see what I’m up to.
Spring time is a time when flowers bloom, and you are probably scrapping spring-y things. So, I am going to share with you an awesome technique to make some flowers for your projects! I love flowers, so it wasn’t hard to think of something to do for this blog hop. A friend gave us some coffee filters a while ago, and I instantly thought “There must be some way to make flowers out of these things!” (We aren’t coffee fans in my house, so I have all the coffee filters to myself) So, today I am sharing with you a tutorial that I made on how to make your own flowers with a simple coffee filter.
2. Fold your coffee filter in half and cut along the sewed pattern.
3. Cut your "ring".
4. Apply glue all over a diecut circle. Then, starting in the middle, twirl the coffee filter strip into a circle.
5. Continue twirling.
*when you're finished with the above step, your flower should look like this*
6. Flatten your flower a little.
7. Cut off any excess paper showing around the flower.
8. Tuck in the end of your coffee filter and attach a button or other embellishment to the center of your flower.
And here are some cards that I have made with these coffee filter flowers.
Well, now you know how to create some pretty flowers out of plain ol’ coffee filters! Now it’s time for a giveaway! I love entering giveaways on blog hops, so I thought "Why not have one of my own?" All you have to do is leave a comment AND become a follower of my blog. (please tell me in the comment if you have become a follower) I will pick a winner on Monday. April 11, 2011 to receive this cute repositionable stamp from Unity Stamp Company and a buttterfly shaped chipboard album from Colorbok and announce it here on my blog.
Thank you for stopping by! Now, hop along to Melissa’s blog. She is an awesome scrapbooker, so I’m sure you will find her projects inspiring! Have fun!
