You & Me {pls}

Hey y'all! I have a new layout up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today!

I love how clean but yet very textured this layout turned out. I noticed when flipping through my albums the other day that I like using lots of patterned paper on my pages. No different on this page! :P

This layout was all about layering different patterns and different embellishments. I used lots of different textures like machine stitching, mist, and staples on this page. (haha- now that I typed that out, those three elements are my go-to's on layouts!). I love how this turned out!

Visit the PLS blog post HERE to read more about this layout. I have a list of the products I used there and some more details about this project.

TN Spread | XOXO

If you didn't already know, Pretty Little Studio has monthly freebies that you can download in their shop! Sometimes they're printables, and for my month, I designed a free cut file! This file was unfortunately for last month... I'm behind on posting projects. :( This month's freebie is a printable from Claudia Van R. It's super gorgeous. Click HERE to see the freebie of the month (and be sure to check back each month to see what the new download is!).

Anyways, here is a Traveler's Notebook spread that I made with the cut file. I cut the design out of one of the patterns in my XOXO collection and then added a few embellishments and called it done! This is probably my favorite TN spread I have made so far. I love the bright colors against the white grid background. It just makes me happy! :)

Hope you have a happy Wednesday! :)

Sweet Moments

I'm totally having a moment where every time I sit down to make something, I end up stopping because I HATE what I make. So instead of creating, I will blog! :) I have lots of unshared projects that I need to post, so I will take one off of my list right now. ;)

I made this layout in participation of a Clique Kits sketch challenge that I found in their Facebook group (click HERE to join the group!). Here's the sketch I used:

I used the Heart Day collection from Crate Paper paired with other bits and pieces from my stash to make this layout. I have so many v-day products that I need to get used up! So I *tried to make a dent in them. Haha. We all know that you could never buy another piece of scrapbooking supplies and still be able to make stuff for a very, very long time. In other words, I still have lots of stuff left to use. ;)

When is the last time you used a sketch for your project? I think they are fabulous jumping off points! I just might need to go find one to get inspired! :)

Together {pls}

Hello!

I'm back with a NEW layout that I created using my XOXO collection! This is the very first project that I made with the collection, so I was super excited to play with all of the pretty things.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: patterned paper is probably my favorite product in scrapbooking. I buy lots of paper just because it's so PRETTY! So naturally, I wanted to play with the patterns for my first project.

I used some alphas in my stash to trace around and cut out of the patterns in the XOXO collection. I love the big, bold, blockiness of the font. It helps you be able to read the title with all the busy patterns going on.

I stitched around all of the letters to add some lovely texture to the page. I love machine stitching so much!! I also watercolored behind each letter. I tried to match the colors in the papers, but that didn't really work. I don't have some of those colors in my paints! :( It turned out ok though. I don't think you can tell that they don't match. I finished off the page with a few embellishments in a visual triangle. I tried to keep it pretty simple.
