Simply Wonderful...

I have been busy lately with school, work, and catching up on sleep from waking up early for school! When I have had time to scrap, I have been making some cards to submit to Paper Crafts. I am trying to help myself accept rejection. ;P
In the meantime, I HAVE had the chance to make an extra card for one of my favorite challenge sites-- The Paper Bakery Kits Blog. I used their bi-weekly sketch for this card. All products (excluding cardstock) are from the Jillibean Soup Coconut Lime Soup line. Check out the challenge; it'd be great if you could play along!

Oh- and of course I love showing you what I buy... :P This is my order from 2peas that I used my $25 gift certificate that I won from Katie at Punk Projects. I had a TON of fun shopping around. I finally decided on buying a lot of the October Afternoon Woodland Park line. I LOVE it! :) Actually, I haven't dug into these beautiful goodies yet because they're just too... pretty! I will soon though.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

A post without Pictures

I am on my iPod today and I just couldn't help but try to blog on this little tiny thing.

So, what's on my mind?? Lots of scrapbook stuff... I got my order in from Two Peas in a Bucket on Saturday and I'm super excited about my new goodies! I noticed there is a new set of submissions topics on the Paper Crafts blog, so I have started making some cards to send in for publication. So far I have made 4.  Super excited about this! It's a new thing for me! :)

I also have started reading a book! [gasp] I am currently on page 53 of Frontier Lady by Judith Pella. I really really like it so far. I usually don't read if it doesn't pertain to scrapbooking or photography, but I am changing my ways!! :P

Ok now back to the topic of scrapbooking. I have really been in the mood to make cards and not layouts. That might change soon since I bought a new-to-me 4x6 printer from a garage sale this past weekend. I really feel like printing a bizillion prints... I have vacation from June to scrap, but I haven't even started on that yet. I just feel more inspired to create cards right now.

Ok- that's about all I'm going to type right now. Classes are about to change here at school and so I probably won't be able to get on here the rest of the day. Have a fabulous Monday!!

An Altered Notebook

Mou Saha was a guest designer over at Punk Projects the other week and I just LOVED the composition book tutorial she did! (By the way, you can find the awesome tutorial here.) I used some awesome vintage book pages that I bought a a yard sale a while back and some receipts from back to school shopping for covering the notebook before putting the washi tape on. I REALLY like how it turned out! I might do one of my binders like this too!

One thing I still have to do is put some sort of label on the front that I can put my name in. Oh- and I still have to modpodge the front as well so all the washi will stay on. :)

BACK:

My favorite part-- you can see the vintage picture through the washi!

Have a fabulous Saturday!

Tag Card

Ok. I was GOING to not play along this week with the Pretty Little Studio sketch challenge, but I guess I am addicted. I love their sketches and so I just HAD to play. :)
All the patterned paper I used was from Pretty Little Studio's Sand Castle line. I love the light colors in this line. I used my new Thickers I purchased from Michael's (type font is "Doll").
Sorry... that's about all I have to say! LOL It's also hard to think of what to type when people are talking around here...

On a different note, school starts this Monday! My last first day! :) We are going to go school supplies shopping this afternoon... I have lots of good deals in mind!

Happiness Comes in Mailboxes

Well, I have some more happy mail to share with you today! I won the Cosmo Cricket project challenge over at Two Peas In a Bucket a couple of weeks ago and finally got my package last Thursday (You know how long it seems when you're waiting on scrappy mail?!). The prize description said it was $50 worth of Cosmo Cricket goodies, but I'm thinking what I got is worth more than that!! It is AMAZING! ;)

I got the mini pads of all 4 Winter releases (Baby Jane, Evangeline, Tea for Two, and 2wenty Thr3e) plus 2 12x12 papers from each line and Elements decks for each line, 3 packs of glubers (which was good... I'm running low on glubers), and washi tape!!

Pictured here: all chipboard, stickers for every line except Evangeline
9 Tiny Types!! Love these things!

A photo of everything piled together... happiness!

Everything...

Thank you, Two Peas and Cosmo Cricket!

One More... It's a Layout

Ok... last post! :P

I participated again this week at Let's Get Sketchy! (find the sketch I used here). I looove layering paper and so I found this sketch very inspiring! I dug out some Jillibean Soup New England Chowder paper (lots of little trucks and cars in this line) and also some random scraps to use on this page. I love using dimension on my layouts, although I will be the first to tell you I have not mastered that technique. I like to attempt though! :)

I usually HATE mixing off-white and white together, but I tried to overlook my dislike and use both colors on this layout. Do you like it? Does it look funny?

I also tried out my new Tattered Angels Marigold mist I bought from The Scrapbook Princess this past weekend. I am not usually a fan of yellow, but I wanted to try it out. I like it mixed with white mist!

Thanks for bearing with my 3 posts today!

Goodbye Summer

I was playing around with my AC Shoreline paper and thought it was so summery that I would make a summer card. I'm so sad summer is already over. I will not miss the heat though; I have being hot. I love the winter though. Great time for scrapping, if I do say so myslef! ;)

This card is for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use fabric on a project. I love adding fabric ruffles to my cards and so I did just that with this card! The fabric is from Moda. Most of these supplies are from The Scrapbook Princess. :)

And a BONUS card! I did not use fabric on this card, but I thought I'd do a little extra on this post because I used the Shoreline collection on this card as well. I have had this ribbon around for a while and I thought it would look cute with this paper!

Fun with some AC Shoreline

Howdy! This is one of three posts I'm putting up today. I have completed a few challenges over the past couple of days and haven't gotten around to posting them until now. I thought it'd be easier for you to comment on if I made separate posts for each challenge I'm participating in.

I bought some lovely American Crafts Shoreline papers at my LSS this past weekend, The Scrapbook Princess. I wasn't sure if I'd actually like using this line, but I really do because it's so SUMMERY! :) It's also great for boy pages too! I used the Paper Bakery Sketch for this page.

And I am trying to add more close-ups of my projects to my blog posts... so here ya go!

Lots of Pennants

Made a quick card this morning with this week's sketch at Pretty Little Studio. I rotated the sketch, and changed the 2 photos to 1. The polaroid photo paper from the Dear Lizzy "Neapolitan" line was perfect for this card.

In other news, I finished my summer reading last week! Yippee! Hopefully this week will include a lot more scrapping than last week did! :) Only 9 days till school starts again... :(

Thoughtful Thursday

Today there's a new thought up at Thinking*Through*Design! This thought is on chevrons, which I think is a totally AWESOME topic because chevrons are so popular right now-- and not just in the scrapbook world!
Here's my "thought":
"I love using chevrons in my scrapping, especially since they are one of the hot trends right now! I don't have a chevron diecut, so I decided to combine several chevron printed papers. I sketched out my layout to begin with, and used the large circles as focal points of the layout. I used the lighter chevron print (yellow) for the large circle and the bolder pink chevron design for one of the smaller circles. The paper collection I used for this layout is the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook line from American Crafts. There is a lot of doodles in this line, so I added a lot of my own doodles to thie page, namely the title! After I finished the page, I thought the chevron design needed to be a little more prominent on the page, so I doodled some large chevron designs on the background and added some stickles to a couple of the chevrons."

Summer + Sisters = FUN!

I'm sharing a layout I made with a Let's Get Sketchy sketch (you can find the challenge here). I haven't played there in a while because I always decide to play along towards the end of the month and you have to play twice in the month to be eligable to win the prize. So I usually don't play. BUT this time, I printed out the sketch and made a layout with it!

I got out my Echo Park Hello Summer kit that I bought back when it first came out. I bought it and promptly made a layout with it then I just kinda put it away and forgot about it! So, here is a layout I finally made with this collection again! :)

A fun thing about this layout... I made ths layout and showed it to my sister and she goes, "Yeah-- you would go crazy without me!" I really would. ;P

Communicate

I made this layout yesterday for the Frosted Designs sketch challenge (click here to go to challenge). I haven't participated in a challenge over there in a while and I really liked the sketch, so I thought " Why not?!" In case you haven't noticed, I love trying out all sorts of different styles of scrapbooking. When I see a sketch like this one, I automatically think of lots of layering and clustering. I actually didn't use too much clustering on this page, but I made lots of different 'levels' by using pop dots.
I used Jillibean Soup's Neapolitan Bisque Soup line. I received this in a prize kit from The Paper Bakery, so this layout was almost FREE to me. I was really happy to get this line because its one of my favorites from JBS!! I love the little phone icons in this line. :)

Something I did a little differently on this layout is for the Kraft background, I used the back of a piece of Jillibean Soup patterned paper (of course it was printed on Kraft, not white paper) that I didn't really like. But, I love the color of Kraft on the back of the pattern so that was handy!!

A Card... Made from a Layout Sketch

I have a card I made from the Pretty Little Studio sketch over at the PLS Blog. I like to create cards from layout sketches, and this one is no exception! I actually used PLS products on this card-- the Sand Castle line (which you can find here). I love the awesome pastel-y colors in this line. The hexagons and butterflies are gorgeous! I interpreted this sketch kinda different since I was making a card out of the layout sketch. I interpreted the photos as patterned paper pennants and I actually extended the paper at the top so it didn't look so spacious. Then I put the sentiment where the title would be if it were a layout. The stamp is from Pebbles.
