Guesting for Artful Delight

Hello everyone!

I am the guest designer for May over at Artful Delight

I got to pick between their card kit and their scrapbook kit, and I chose to work with the scrapbook kit. It had a lot of cute products in it. Mainly what I was excited about was the 2-step misting template from Studio Calico! I ended up using it on 2 of my 3 projects! The mist "First Kiss" that comes in the kit is such a pretty shade of pink. It goes perfectly with the misting template!

For my first layout, I used the awesome Heidi Swapp sunburst paper. I highlighted the sun rays with some triangle stamps from the MME stamp set that came with the kit and some machine stitching. Then of course I used my "usual" layering.

This next layout I used a lot of the HS "Serendipity" papers to layer behind the photo and then some Amy Tan "Yes, Please" stickers to embellish it.

And you might think that you can only use that awesome misting template on layouts... Think again! I used it on a card!

I really enjoyed working with this kit. And I still have lots of it left! Yay! Thank you Leeanne for working with me and letting me guest design for your company! :)

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm up on the Love My Tapes blog with a layering technique using washi tape. Washi tape in LAYERING? Yup! You'll just have to check it out for yourself! Here's a peek of it though. ;)

Graduation :)

I thought I'd share a few photos of my graduation on Thursday. I'm so amazed that it's already over. I'm so happy... but in a good way! Sure, I'm going to miss parts of high school, but I'm ready to go on with my life.

I had to give my Valedictorian speech. It went well. I wasn't as nervous as I have been before when giving speeches. It was a beautiful day for a graduation though, and I'm so happy and thankful it was.

Katelyn, me and MarLeah. Katelyn and MarLeah travelled from Missouri just for my graduation. :)

Favorite part of the whole ceremony! I'm glad MarLeah got this picture on her camera. I was actually so excited to throw my hat I did it too early... Oops. ;P

It's all over now!! It's kinda weird. I'll be back Monday with a fun little washi project, so stay tuned!

13 Months... One of my favorite little people :)

Today is sketch challenge day over at Pretty Little Studio!

My layout this week is about my cute little cousin, Blaine. I adore him. I try to take pictures of him (and his brother) whenever I get the chance. And I love scrapping them! Blaine is just so adorable and cute and sweet and adorable and .... I could go on forever. Like my title on this pose says, he's one of my favorite little people. :)

In other news, I have been so busy lately!! We are still working on some major changes around here. Plus we've had graduations, a wedding, and everything in between to go to! And then this week is my graduation! Thursday is the day!! Eeekkk! I'm so excited! Today is my last "actual" day of school. Just catching up some exams and trying hard to finish the yearbook so I don't have to come back tomorrow. I will be so glad when May is over! I never thought I'd say that.

Again, sorry this picture is blocky. I don't know what is with my Blogger app!!

One more...

Happy Friday! Whoo, it seems like it's been Friday for days. Wednesday seemed like Friday, Thursday seemed like Friday, and finally! It's now Friday!! I got in some scrappy time last night since I packed all of my "to do" stuff into Wednesday. And I have my speech written! Yay! I like how it turned out. I hope everyone else likes it too! Six days and counting...

I dug out my Maggie Holmes collection for this page. I haven't used it in a bit, and I thought it'd go well with my picture I chose to use. Two great reasons in one, right? I used a Paper Bakery Kit Sketch for this layout. The only thing I really "changed" is I used hand stitched chevrons instead of arrows. I like the subtle touch it gives my overall layout. I think if I would have used arrows, it would have drawn away from the overall design. The stitched chevrons were made with the Amy Tangerine hand stitching templates from Amy's Yes, Please collection. I love them but I have to sych myself up to use them because hand stitching is so time consuming... I always love the texture it gives though. Maybe I should try adding it more often!

Having Fun with Free Files

I have been downloading lots of free cut files for my Silhouette ever since National Scrapbook Day and I got to play along with the challenge at Chic Tags to use their arrow diecuts! (Ok, we'll, it was to use any arrows, but you could use their cut files too) I loved this challenge! I even cut the FREE chevron arrow shape from the Chic Tags store and sewed them on the background of my page.

I used the My Girl collection again from Echo Park. I mixed some of the colorful patterns with some scraps I've had laying around in my scrap tray for a while. It worked pretty well! I thought it would look a little better than using just the papers in the one collection. I think it looks a lot less "matchy matchy" this way.

Only one week and a day till graduation! I have half of my speech written... Gotta finish it either today or tomorrow. :)

P.S. Sorry these pictures are blocky. I updated my blogger app on my iPad and for some reason it uploads my pictures all blocky looking... :(

In other news, I have a tutorial up at Pretty Little Studio today! Here's a peek:
