A Braddy Layout

Hi! I'm out of school for Presidents' Day today (just a weather day, really) and I completed a layout for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge to use brads or eyelets on your project! You can find the challenge here.
I have had this Jillibean Soup "Chicken Soup" paper for what seems like a while (some of it over 6 months, then I bought some more goodies to match back in Nov./ Dec.) with scrapping our animals in mind. Well, we got baby goats January 31st (on a Tuesday) and the momma died the following Saturday. :( So now we have little orphan goaties. We feed them formula in baby bottles now. I thought this paper was "appropriate" for this page.
It's kinda funny... I started out with a TOTALLY different approach to this layout, then I decided I didn't like it and just made it up as I went along! This is my first layout that I really like how I layered everything. (Maybe I AM finally getting the hang of it!)

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!, The Paper Studio
Brads: The Paper Studio, Target, American Crafts
Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Jillibean Soup (question mark: American Crafts)
Buttons: Michael's, American Crafts, other
Pen: American Crafts
Stickers: Jillibean Soup
Other: Burlap

In all, I used 23 brads on this layout! Wow! What a stretch for me; I hardly ever use brads!

Frosted Designs Card and a SKETCH made by me

I realized that after I made this card for the Card Sketch Challenge that I'm not sure if I can even participate anymore! I know I can't once I start my Design Team term, but I haven't done a card yet for the DT! My first one is at the beginning of March. :) Anyway, whether I am "valid" to enter or not, here's my card!

I used a mix of papers on my card-- which makes me happy that I can mix lines and the card will still look okay. I used some MME papers from the Stella and Rose line along with a piece from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker line. Then I added a Cosmo Cricket sticker from who-knows-what-line.

In other news, I figured out that I can create a sketch on Microsoft Word and then "snip" a picture of it with my snipping tool on the computer. Yay! I just wanted to share one with you and a card I made from my first sketch! Feel free to lift the sketch, but please credit it to me and link it back to my blog if you post it on your blog or in an online gallery. Thanks!

A New Sketch Challenge Site (and a card share!)

Happy Sunday! I was fortunate enough to get to scrap some yesterday and I am already ready to share them with you! Wow, right? I usually wait a couple of days before FINALLY taking pictures of my projects and posting them! LOL

First, I wanted to share a new sketch challenge website. It's called Let's Get Sketchy! Here is their first "mini challenge" sketch. (you can find the link to the challenge under the picture of the sketch.) I absolutely LOVED the pennant flags on the right side of the layout and I just knew I wanted to use this sketch for a layout.

About the layout... I dug out some of some older Cosmo Cricket papers from the "Hey Sugar" valentine line. I am very happy with the outcome of this layout- don't you love it when you make a layout you think is your favorite EVER then you make another one that you like even better? Well, this one's my new favorite. I would also like to mention that my friend Mary Lou from ClubCK made those beautiful crocheted flowers I used on this layout. I wasn't too sure about the color of them when I first received them, but when I was making this layout, I discovered that the off-white matched great with this paper.

Also, this layout is for the Frosted Designs challenge to use the word "LOVE" on your layout. Laura really loves our baby goats. :) I thought this picture was precious.

You can find the sketch here.
The Frosted Designs challenge is here.

Thanks for the awesome inspiration, Let's Get Sketchy!

I have a card to share with you too! This card is for the Moxie Fab challenge to use diecuts on your project. I used diecuts to make the background of this card-- I temporarily glued some dieuts onto my cardstock and misted over them. (I didn't like the colors of the diecuts, so that's why I used them as a mask; I'm not a purple girl.) Then I traced each shape with a Stampin' Up! marker. I also used diecuts to make my flower and label. What fun die-cuts can be! I never knew they would be so fun to use! :P Now I just need to use my Cuttlebug and Cricut more...
