How was your NSD?

I had an awesome weekend at my scrapbook retreat! After I got home this afternoon, then I did another layout with this Pretty Little Studio sketch. I normally would NEVER be this "random" with my page but I thought it might be fun to be a little "messy" with my style. What do you think of it? I used some Jillibean Soup "Sweet & Sour" scraps that I have... I lovvvve this line! I bought a LOT of new stuff at the retreat this weekend... the most I have ever spent at one time on scrappy stuff. I didn't know how much I spent till the end of the retreat, and boy-- it sure grows! LOL I better go on another freeze. :)

A Braddy Layout

Hi! I'm out of school for Presidents' Day today (just a weather day, really) and I completed a layout for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge to use brads or eyelets on your project! You can find the challenge here.
I have had this Jillibean Soup "Chicken Soup" paper for what seems like a while (some of it over 6 months, then I bought some more goodies to match back in Nov./ Dec.) with scrapping our animals in mind. Well, we got baby goats January 31st (on a Tuesday) and the momma died the following Saturday. :( So now we have little orphan goaties. We feed them formula in baby bottles now. I thought this paper was "appropriate" for this page.
It's kinda funny... I started out with a TOTALLY different approach to this layout, then I decided I didn't like it and just made it up as I went along! This is my first layout that I really like how I layered everything. (Maybe I AM finally getting the hang of it!)

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!, The Paper Studio
Brads: The Paper Studio, Target, American Crafts
Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Jillibean Soup (question mark: American Crafts)
Buttons: Michael's, American Crafts, other
Pen: American Crafts
Stickers: Jillibean Soup
Other: Burlap

In all, I used 23 brads on this layout! Wow! What a stretch for me; I hardly ever use brads!

A Jillibean Soup Layout!

Happy Saturday!! I am so excited I have a three day weekend and I'm hoping to scrap a lot! My mom is going to scrap with me too! :)

I made this layout last week just for fun- not for ANY challenges! This time, I was inspired by both the pictures and the cute Jillibean Soup "Sweet and Sour Soup" paper. And see that cute flower shape I used for the title? I repurposed that from the package of corrugated frames that I got and I thought it went perfect on this layout.

The "two" letters are my faaaaavorite font ever! It's the new Amy Tangerine line. I was looking for these and I went to my LSS and they had them! Woo hoo! It was the last pack of them too! I was so excited to get them!

Hope you have a scrappy day today! :)

"Boy Genius" Layout and a Frosted Designs Card

This weekend I actually got some scrappy time! Woo hoo! I completed a layout for the Sketchy Thursdays challenge and a card for the Frosted Designs card challenge.

You know how sometimes you scrap certain pictures because you're inspired to? Well, that's what I did. I took these pictures this past Wednesday when my mom, sister, and I took care of my little cousin while his mom went to a doctor's appointment. We took care of him in the lobby of the office. Landon really is a little boy genius!!

I got to use my NEW Echo Park "Little Boy" collection I just got this week just for scrapping Landon! Love it- so cutesy and boyish!

Journaling reads: "Warren and Jana recently got an iPhone, and Landon has learned to flip through pictures by sliding his little finger across the screen. He figured out he could do the same thing on Laura's Zune! Just another reason why Landon is a... boy genius."

And here's my card for the Frosted Designs card challenge! I used my new Jillibean Soup "Blossom Soup" line on this card. Jillibean Soup is one of my new favorite companies!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

"Goofy Gals"- My Sister's Page

Happy New Year!

I don't have any of MY projects to post, but I do have a page that my sister did to show you! One day I was scrapping and she suddenly came in and wanted to scrap with me! :O
(very unlike her!!)

She used pictures that she took on her DSi of her and her friend Haleigh. They're so silly- the title fits them all the way!

She loves this paper pad that I got called "The Colorful Life" from DCVW and of course if she scrapbooks, she uses it! I thought her page turned out cute!! :)

Top 5 Projects of the Year!

Well, I might as well post if I have access to the computer! I am sharing with you my favorite projects of the year~ enjoy!

And a BIG thank you to all of my faithful blog readers!! :) I really apprectiate all the comments you leave!

"Sweetie Pie"

Surprise! I am autoposting a layout!

I finised this one yesterday (I'm typing this on Thursday) and I just love it so much! I finally broke out my Crate Paper "Farmhouse" paper and I just love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!

I have had these photos of Laura printed for, oh, about a month now, and just haven't scrapped them! I have pictures of me from this same photoshoot, so keeps an eye out for a layout about me... I thought the colors of the Farmhouse collection were so fallish, which were perfect for these fall pictures! (oops- just realized I need to date this page- I forgot to!)

I started out with a Scrapbook Generation sketch for the background, and then I placed the photos whereever I felt like they went ok. Just so ya know, I'm not a two pager kind of gal. They take way too long to do, and after a while, I feel guilty for using so much time on just ONE layout. So, I don't do that many. Anyway, I'm not too fond of my photo placement, but it'll do. I really liked the tag "pull" technique that Megan Hoeppner used in the Nov./Dec. Creating Keepsakes magazine (I think that was the issue) and I wanted to use that on this layout. Instead of using Thickers for the title like I would normally do, I used one of the journaling card/tags that came on one of the Farmhouse pages. I'm so glad I have my LSS "The Scrapbook Princess" to go to now (it's not new... I just discovered it!) I bought the papers there.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Crate Paper
Cardstock: Bazzill
Brad: American Crafts
Mist: Tim Holtz
Yellow Ribbon Embellishment: Jenni Bowlin
Metal Flower Embellishment: BoBunny
Jounaling Spot: Pretty Little Studio

Hope you enjoyed my "surprise"! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketchy Projects!

Well, here's my second post of the day! I hate autoposting because then I can't link them to challenges I do until later... and then I forget!!

This first layout is for the Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays Challenge. I was so excited when I saw that Ashley Horton had made the sketch for the challenge this week!
I know Ashley from ClubCK and her sketches are always amazing (along with her work!).

As for the layout itself, I used my Echo Park For the Record kit that I bought from Hobby Lobby. It is so pretty-- not really my style, but I like it anyway. Most of the embellishments I used were from the kit because I was trying to hurry and finish the layout. (that's the great part about using a kit, right?) So, it's not may favorite I have ever done (I think it coordinates too much), but I'm not going to change it now!

Patterned Paper: Echo Park
Stickers: Echo Park
"dec 2011" stickers: Lily Bee
Dimensional Letter Stickers: American Crafts
Notebook Edge Punch: EK Success
Twine: Etsy

My next project is a card I made from a Pretty Little Studio Sketch.

I loved the squares on this sketch, so I made a patchwork card! I have so many scraps, I should use this technique more often! I was going to glue the sentiment strips straight onto the card, but I thought that it needed to stand out a little more against the patterns. So, I cut a label with my new Spellbinders dies that I got for Christmas! Paired with some light pink baker's twine, I think it added a lot to the card.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Girl Friday"
Kraft Cardstock: Recollections
Blue Cardstock: Bazzill
Baker's Twine: The Twinery
Card Base: The Paper Studio

Frosted Designs Challenge- "Just Laura" Layout

Hmm.... how long has it been since I've got to scrap? A while, that's how long! :P I have been making Christmas tags this week, but I don't consider that actual "scrapping" persay, just playing around.

I finally got to dig into some of my NEW October Afternoon goodies! (from a swap that we did on ClubCK, plus my OA Santa Sack!) I combined lots of different lines- Ducks in a Row, Daydreams, Sidewalks, Hometown, and Farm Fresh all in one page! The colors are prettier in person, but for some reason my new camera doesn't take very good pics of my layouts!!

My little sister (pictured here in this layout) wanted me to take some pictures of her one evening, but it was already dark outside so I just took some of her against a blank wall in my room! This was my favorite picture of the photoshoot. :)

Thanks for looking! :) Hopefully I'll post some more before Christmas!

"Expert Hair-do" Layout- Frosted Designs

Hope you had a great Sunday today! I have a layout to share with you that I used a Frosted Designs sketch on.
I got to use a piece of my new Jillibean Soup goodies that I got (from the Ministrone line) along with some Basic Grey Out of Print paper! I love this stuff, and this line is perfect for fussy-cutting! :)This layout is about my little sister doing my hair for my birthday party. She's amazing at doing hair, and she reads and looks up stuff about hair ALL the time! :P My sister is so awesome...

(Love these AC Thickers... the black ones are new- they're called "Hardcover.")

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and commenting on my project from the Handmade Holiday Blog Hop! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on my crafting adventures! :)

Leafing Memories Behind Blog Hop!

Now, let's get started with the fun stuff!

Here's my layout I made for the hop this time. We were challenged to use pictures with LEAVES in them, and I immediately thought of these pictures! They are from 1997 (I was 3 back then!) and my mom had apparently gotten some camera film that was black and white! I loved the softness of these pictures. My mom was nice enough to let me scrapbook the ORIGINAL pictures! Thanks, Mom!

Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket "Nutmeg" line
Solid Cream Cardstock: Michael's
Brown Cardstock (title): Bazzill
Stickers: Cosmo Cricket, Jolee's
Buttons: Basic Grey, American Crafts
Twine: The Twinery
Cricut Cartridge (title): Printing Press
Glossy Accents (for title)
Pen: Zig
Other: Eyelets, corner rounder, thread

A couple of sketchy layouts!

Hi there! I have 2 layouts to share with you today that I have made from sketches this week!
10.6 sketch challenge

First of all, my Sketchy Thursdays layout! I finally broke into my gorgeous Pretty Little Studio paper! Woo hoo! Love it, love it, love it.  These pictures are from my little sister's birthday shopping trip a couple of weeks ago!

And also my layout from this Frosted Designs sketch! I have always wanted to use the fold-the-edge-of-your-paper technique, and I finally did on this layout! I used mostly Echo Park products on this layout.

BTW, it's my 17th birthday today! Woo hoo! I have had a wonderful day today. :)
