SISTERS Mini Album

So, my baby sister turned 16 yesterday. It's crazy to think it seems like it was just yesterday I was 16. Makes me feel really old. Laura asked me to make her a mini album of just her and I for her birthday gift. I was like, "I can totally do that!" I finished it late on Monday evening... so much later than I was wanting to get it done. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I made a simple base of accordion pleated cardstock for the album. I used my mom's scoring pad that she bought from Stampin' Up to help make sure all the pages were even. The size of each page is 3"x5." I used one 12"x12" for the base. This album was not hard to make!

She loves glitter, so of course I incorporated that into the cover. And watercolors. She loves watercolors.

See on the right page how I sewed the pocket? Yeah, Shanna Noel inspired that. ;)

I didn't use bulky embellishments, like wood veneer, on this album. For one, I didn't want the embellishment to rub off the photo on the opposite page when folded up, and two, I didn't want the album to fold weird. So, I used items like puffy stickers and diecuts to add fun pops of... fun-ness.

Crazy photos of us... always the best.

And of course I had some interactive elements, like the tags in the pockets, as well as this little flap with more photos under it.

Here's how the whole thing looks when you fold it all out!

I didn't use one particular line for this album. I mixed LOTS of different collections. My scrap bin was my friend. ;)

Hope you enjoyed looking at my newest creation! I know my sister loved it!
