"Expert Hair-do" Layout- Frosted Designs

Hope you had a great Sunday today! I have a layout to share with you that I used a Frosted Designs sketch on.
I got to use a piece of my new Jillibean Soup goodies that I got (from the Ministrone line) along with some Basic Grey Out of Print paper! I love this stuff, and this line is perfect for fussy-cutting! :)This layout is about my little sister doing my hair for my birthday party. She's amazing at doing hair, and she reads and looks up stuff about hair ALL the time! :P My sister is so awesome...

(Love these AC Thickers... the black ones are new- they're called "Hardcover.")

Also, I wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and commenting on my project from the Handmade Holiday Blog Hop! I really appreciate you taking the time to comment on my crafting adventures! :)

Pretty Little Studio Card (Sketch #19)

I have a card to share with you that I made from this week's Pretty Little Studio sketch(#19)! I kinda interpreted it a little differently, but I tried to stay with the sketch.
For the background bracket, I used a heart cut-out. Then for the smaller bracket, I used the oval sticker, then I rotated the 3 pictures and made them into paper strips. The flower clusters coordinate with the scallops I used on my card.

There. Hope that makes sense. :)

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: GCD Studios (I think...), DCWV
Sticker: Glitz Design
Stamp: American Crafts
Chipboard: JoAnn's
Twine: Etsy
Rub-on: Sassafras

Happy Birthday to My Sister!

Today's my little sister's 13th birthday, and I am sharing the gift card holder I made for her today! :) She loves the DCWV stack called "The Colorful Life" that I have, so I used it on here. I have NEVER made a gift card holder before so this was all new to me!

The funny thing was that she didn't realize that the "Happy Birthday" part was a Target giftcard!! She kinda flipped it over and looked at it, and I said, "That's a gift card, Laura!" LOL :P

Moxie Fab World Cards

I know, I know- I'm so bad at spacing out my blog posts... it's just that I dumpy my memory card all at once, and then I want to post all the layouts and cards I have made for challenges! So, here's 2 cards I made from this lovely inspiration picture for the Tuesday Trigger challenge over at Moxie Fab World.

I used the colors from this picture for both cards- basically red, white, kraft, and turquoise.
I didn't take the green from the picture- I liked just the turquoise/red/white combo.

Be sure to check out the Moxie Fab World Challenges!! They have a lot of awesome ones, and hopefully you'll see me over there some more! :)

Birthday Lunch Layout

Just sharing a layout I made the other day...

I have had this Sassafras paper for a long time (the blue paper flower and stripe) and I just haven't had any inspiration to use it! I just put it in the back of my paper file and didn't think about it. Well, we eventually found rub-ons to match the paper (We didn't even know they mathched when we bought them!) and so that kinda gave me an incentive to use the paper!

Lately, I have been being adventurous and matching the paper on my own! So I used some American Crafts and Cosmo Cricket paper along with my Sassafras paper!

I started this page with a Sketch Generations sketch. I altered it a bit to accomidate the number of pictures I wanted to use.
Supplies: Patterned Paper: Sassafras, Cosmo Cricket, American Crafts; Stickers: Jillibean Soup; Flowers: Petaloo; Brads: The Paper Studio; Letter Thickers: American Crafts; Ink: Colorbox; Pen: American Crafts

My dad's Birthday Card

This past Saturday was my dad's birthday, and so I whipped up a card for him really quickly on Saturday morning! (Hey- nothing like last minute, is there?!)

I broke out my new Nikki Sivils "Henry's Brillance" mini papers, and I really like the new "guy" look! I usually use my old faithful "Joy Ride" paper from Cosmo Cricket, but to be honest, I'm getting tired of it! (gasp! I'm getting tired of COSMO CRICKET!) There is one little Cosmo Cricket tid bit on here though- the "for my dad" sentiment is from the line called "'Lil Man."
Supplies: Card Base: The Paper Studio; Patterned Paper: Nikki Sivils; Journaling Card: Cosmo Cricket; Brads: Basic Grey; Twine: Etsy; Ink: Colorbox

If I am ever delivering a card personally, I usually put the name of the person it's going to in stickers. I love this sticker font from American Crafts...
Oh, by the way, I got the card design from the Paper Crafts Best of Card Creations 2010 book:

Happy Birthday Card

The card challenge for this week on Club Creating Keepsakes is to use chipboard some way on your card! I love the look of raw chipboard, so I decided to use all of the rest of my random chipboard flowers on my card! I stamped them with a script stamp from Stampin' Up from a few years ago, added a few brads to a couple of the flowers, and ta-do! You're done! Twine is from hobbiesfromtheheart off Etsy. Love it to death. :)

Supplies: Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye; Chipboard: K&Company and JoAnn's; Stamps: Stampin' Up, American Crafts; Ink: Colorbox; Brads: American Crafts, Hobby Lobby; Twine: Etsy; Stickles: Ranger; Glue: Glossy Accents

A Birthday Card

I made this card for one of my mom's friends. My mom didn't have time to make one herself so I made one for her! I lifted this card design from a card in the Paper Crafts book "The Best of Card Creations." I love Paper Crafts. They're a great source for inspiration! Where do you get your inspiration?

I usually don't do color schemes because I usually use coordinating paper all the time! This time I coordinated it myself! (I'm so proud!) I had the pink and blue, then I thought "Ooh- yellow would really pop on this card!" So that's where I came up with my color scheme. I think I'll do these colors again- I love them!!!

Supplies: Patterned Paper: (Blue, Pink) My Mind's Eye (Yellow) Cosmo Cricket, Letter Stickers: BoBunny, Flowers: Prima, Button: American Crafts, Ribbon: my stash, Rhinestones: Me & My Big Ideas, Ink: Colorbox, Corner rounder: EKSuccess

Thanks for comin' by and checking out my blog!

One Last Layout To Share Before I Go...

I have another layout to share with you! I made this layout last week for several challenges over at Club Creating Keepsakes. Here are the challenges I participates in:
1. Make a Kirigami Firework or Flower.
(Kirigami is like the technique you use to make paper snowflakes.)
2. Make an outlined title.
(I actually used some leftover My Little Shoebox chipboard lettering to trace.)
3. A weekly challenge to use a recipe provided by the member Gena. It can be found here.

I will be going out of town for over a week, so I probably won't be able to blog for a while!
:( But I wanted to say thanks to all of you who stop by my blog every once in a while- I really appreciate your comments. :)
