Having Some Fun!

Howdy! I am back with a layout and a card I have made this week on Spring Break! I have had a lot of fun this week-- between going to a museum, going shopping, and working it's been a busy week!

This layout is for the Let's Get Sketchy! challenge (which you can find here). I decided to play a lot with layering and textures on this layout. The collection I used is "Vintage Vogue" from Pink Paislee. It's so pretty! I thought a black and white photo would look good with the colors in this line. This is totally not my style, but I've been playing with different looks lately. :)

And I have a card to show you that I made for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday challenge to use grids on your project (find that challenge here). I used my butterfly scraps to make this card. I stitched the grid (which doesn't look the best... don't look close) and then I closed the grid in with some baker's twine. Can you say colorful? :)

It's Time for Another Frosted Designs Challenge!

How's your week so far? Mine's GREAT! It's Spring Break so I am having a blast being out of school.

It's Tuesday, so it's time again for a Frosted Designs card challenge! This week, the sponsor is Digi Doodles so the DT got some free digital stamps to play with! Honestly, I have never used digi stamps before, and probably never would have if it had not been for this week's challenge.

I picked the hummingbird stamp to play with. I simply printed it out on some watercolor paper and colored it in with Faber-Castell watercolor pencils. I wasn't sure if the ink would smear when I put water on it, but it was perfectly fine! *happy dance!* This is TOTALLY not my style, but I am really digging it. I love the elegance of it. I love watercoloring, so this was total fun for me. ;)

Patterned Paper: Sassafras
Brad: Making Memories
Twine: Webster's Pages
Stamp: Stampin' Up!

Pop back any time! I still have a giveaway I'm wanting to do... I just gotta get the photo of the prize and post it! Keep a lookout!

Car Card

Hello! I recently played with my new Kaisercraft stamps! I saw this set at my LSS and I KNEW I had to have it! It has a car on it!! My dad loves cars. And those tire tracks on my card are stamps too. As is the banner. I used 3 of the stamps in the set on this card! Fun fun! I normally don't use that many stamps, but I just LOVE this set! I used a Paper Bakery Sketch on this card (which you can find here). I took the bottom part of the sketch and used it for my card. The car stamped part is the "photo" element. I'll admit I was a litte intimidated at first by this sketch, but once I got working it came together perfectly.
And in other news... I just found out that I am going to my FIRST EVER scrapbook retreat! It's happening on National Scrapbooking Day weekend. I'm SO excited! My mom and dad bought it for me instead of me going to Prom (which is this weekend). They presented it to me tonight when we went out for dinner. AWESOME! It was a total surprise! I didn't think there were any more spots left, but my mom had already bought my spot! WOO HOO!!

And I also have some amazing news... and I mean, AMAZING news. I can't wait to tell you! Oh- and I alllllso have a little giveaway up my sleeve, so stick around for that. Wow- good news all around, right?! :)

Echo Park "This and That" Fun

I finally tore into my Echo Park "This and That: Graceful" collection the other night. I just LOVE IT! The colors are so girly and fun! I also bought the Echo Park "This and That: Charming" mini pad and coordinating brads so be on the lookout for some projects made with those goodies!

This layout is for the Pretty Little Studio Sketch Challenge (which you can find
here). I loved this bracket shape I had from the Antique Store line from PLS, and so I used that to mat everything on. This layout is kinda "scary" to me because I have so much white space around the edges! I like it though! :) There was "Polar Ice Company" where the title is, and I just glued a piece of paper over it and put my title on it! If you look really close you can tell it, but I like it better than my title being "Polar Ice Co.!"

And I had this card in mind to do, so I did it while I had all this EP goodness out already. :)

Happy Thursday! :)

Some More Projects-- a card and a layout

I've got yet some MORE projects to share with you! Woo hoo for a scrappy week!

I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge over at the Pretty Little Studio Blog. You can find the photo I drew inspiration from and the challenge here.  I really liked the circles and the color scheme of the photo, so I used those elements for my card. I used up some scraps that have been sitting in my scrapbox waiting to be used. Don't you just LOVE it when you can use up scraps??

This layout is for the Frosted Designs Sketch Along Tuesdays challenge. You can find that challenge
here. I saw the sketch this morning and promptly got to working on my layout. I dug out some of my Crate Paper "Random" collection for this page. I love this collection-- the colors are AWESOME and do you see that background paper?? It looks like a piece of photo paper! :) Awesome! I loved the circles on the sketch! I had a lot of fun with this page... I think Crate Paper makes everything more fun!
Ok- that's it for now! Gotta run off to school now! Ahh... the joys of going to school late... :)

Sketchy Layouts!

I'm baaaack! I have 2 layouts I have made from sketches!

This first layout I made from a Let's Get Sketchy! sketch (which you can find here). I used some MME Stella & Rose paper that I received from Tina Walker. I love love LOVE the Stella & Rose line and so I have a lotta fun with this page! Yes, I know that my title says "srapbooking" not "scrapbooking." Just read the journaling and maybe you'll understand why. :)

And also I made a layout from a Pretty Little Studio sketch(which you can find here). I used some Dear Lizzy Spring paper on this layout about my grandma!

Thanks for stopping by!!

A Cute Little Bag

Hi! Hope you've had a fabulous weekend and are ready for the week! I am so excited because this week is graduation exams at school and since I passed all of them last year (they give them to you then), I don't have to go to school till 10:48 every day this week! And then the next week is Spring Break! I don't have anything planned, so hopefully you'll be seeing more blog posts within the next few weeks... I am hoping to get in on a few challenges!

I have a little gift bag to share with you that I made for the Frosted Designs challenge to use something with wings on your project. I happened to have this butterfly diecut and I thought it would go perfect with a little girl themed project! Really I didn't do this bag JUST for the Frosted Designs challenge-- I was planning on making a bag anyway. :) My cousin is having a baby girl and I wanted to make a little bag to go with the gift. At first I was planning on using an owl on the bag, but then I had this little butterfly that was just begging me to use it!

And I just HAVE to show you what's inside the bag-- a cute little owl onsie and bib! I just looooove owls~ wish this was mine, right? :)

Be sure to pop in this week to see what I'm up to!

My First Week at Frosted Designs!

Howdy! I am having my first card reveal over at Frosted Designs! I had so much fun making my first card, and so here it is! I used some wonderful Cosmo Cricket "Girl Friday" paper along with a bumblebee cutout from Bella Blvd. Oh- and see those amazing green letters? Studio Calico! Gotta love that cute font! :)

Sorry- I don't have any other photos of my card... our computer is kinda broken so you're lucky to get to see this picture! LOL

Oh- and did you know... I'm sponsoring this week!!! :) Please play along! I put together a cute Spring-y card kit for the prize this time!

"Yum Yum" October Afternoon (again!)

Well, I have yet another layout to share with you that I used my wonderful October Afternoon "Sidewalks" collection on! I just love this stuff- the colors work so well with just about ANY pictures! I liked this line before I had my hands on it, and I love it even more now that I am using it! (Plus it helps that I have the journaling cards, trims, buttons, and alpha stickers that coordinate with it- that is rare for me.)

I used the awesome sketch over at The Paper Bakery (which you can find here) for my layout. I loved Grace's take on the sketch with the pennants under the left picture, so that's what I did with my layout.

And this is my favorite part of the WHOLE page-- I sewed on the alphabet stickers! I love this look, and I finally used this technique on my page. I will definately use this more!
P.S. I'll be doing a giveaway on my blog very soon. Keep an eye out for it!

Having some October Afternoon Fun!

I dug out some of my October Afternoon "Sidewalks" collection last night to play with. I just love this collection! I had bought some paper from my LSS and then I had received some of the coordinating embellishments in my OA Santa's Sack. Everything on this layout is October Afternoon, from paper to trims! The only items that are not OA that I used on this layout are the Cosmo Cricket mini letters, blue Sharpie, and staples! The background paper is not from the Sidewalks collection, but from the Hometown collection. It went perfectly so I used it!

I used a sketch from Love Joy Paper that went awesome with these photos. (Find the sketch here.) I am so glad I have these pictures scrapped now; I have had them sitting around for months!

P.S. I just have to tell you this!!! I won the giveaway from Tina's blog called A Dog's Life! Click here to see some of the goodies I won! I cannot BELIEVE it-- I will be sure to post pictures when I get the boxes of goodies!
