14- A Layout :)

So, how was your Christmas? Mine was fabulous! :) I got lots of awesome goodies from Santa (LOL) and my family. The only thing that was kinda a bummer was that I didn't get any scrappy related gifts! BUT, I do have Christmas $$ so I might just have to spend some of it on some scrappy gifts for myself! That works out, right?

I made this layout before Christmas and didn't have time to post pictures of it before we went to see family in Missouri and Oklahoma. So, now I get to share it with you! This is the first layout I have made with my Dear Lizzy "5th & Frolic" collection and this is just an awesome line to work with! It's not exactly my style, but I really like it! As you probably already know, I love to try out different styles!

I used ScrapFIT's sketch for this layout, which you can find here if you'd like to play along. I liked the papers matting the photo, so I stacked several wide strips of patterned paper to make a pretty base to "hold" my photo. I have noticed recently while looking through my albums, that I normally do only one-photo layouts. I think I am going to challenge myself to make more multi-photo layouts this next year!

One more thing- do you notice the background?? Yep- it's cut with my Silhouette Cameo! I just can't get away from it now! :)

See that little confetti button badge? Well, I made it! Be on the lookout for announcement of my new entrepreneurship (is that even a word?)! :)

Gift Card Holders

Here are some cute little gift cards I made for Christmas! I cut them from a free file from Kerri Bradford's 12 Days of Christmas. I love how simple they are to make! Basically cut, fold, glue, and you're done!

Christmas Cards

I am sharing my 2012 Christmas cards today! They didn't turn out exactly like I wanted them to, but they aren't the worst cards I have ever made. By the way, I hate making cards in bulk. I would MUCH rather make each card super unique and focus more on each card rather than make several cards all the same. I would have done that for my Christmas cards, but I was too busy making other goodies and I almost didn't get them mailed!

I lifted this design from another card that I have made, and to be honest, I liked my other card a lot more. I don't know why these Christmas cards didn't turn out quite right, but anyway. I did get to use my Cameo on these cards though (which is a plus). I welded the "JOY" letters together because I did not want to individually glue each letter to the labels. I kept the negative from my "JOY" diecuts because it looks way cool! You might see that in one of my projects soon. :)

Merry Wednesday! Only 6 days till Christmas (that is, if you count today)!

Christmas Canvases

Hmm... Is canvases even a word?? LOL I made these for some of my coworkers with just some 6x6 canvases from Hobby Lobby, some paper, and my Cameo. Yep, I'm getting a lot of use out f my Cameo. :) I think what I liked doing most on these projects is the diecut paper for the background of each canvas. I didn't like taking off all of the little negative shapes after I had cut it out though!

Anyway, here are some Christmas projects for today!

Dream Come True Layout

Here's a layout I made a couple of weeks ago with the very ends of my Dear Lizzy Neapolitan papers. I never can use up ALL of my paper and I actually STILL have some small scraps left of this line after I made this layout. I designed this page all myself and I'm pretty proud of it! This layout is about my new car! Right now, this car has no seats or door panels or headliner in it because we're replacing the seat covers and working on some other things to make it perfect! So I'm driving my dad's car right this week and I can't waaaait till this beaut is ready to drive again. :)

Little Treats

I decorated these little treats for my friends that I eat lunch with. One day I brought a Ghirdelli caramel square, and River (yes, that's his name) tried some and loved it. Everyone else at the table seemed to like them too, so I thought "I need to bring them some for Christmas!" So, of course, I had to decorate them with my scrapbook stuff! I used my Silhouette Cameo for the snowflake and the little name negatives. I love the negative trend right now, and it makes it so easy to do with my Cameo diecutting machine. I'm giving these treats to my friends today, so i hope they like them!

Silhouette Bag

I made this cute little monkey with a shape from the Silhouette store for making a little add-on for a gift bag. It is super easy to group the parts you want different colors on the Silhouette software. I'm LOVING my Cameo! :) I added some googly eyes to make the little monkey more fun! Happy Friday! Hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Yummy Hot Chocolate

I have a layout hot off the press... err, straight from the scrapbook room... to share today!

I was browsing the Internet yesterday, and I found a sketch at Cocoa Daisy that I really liked and wanted to use for a layout. One of the very first things I diecut with my Silhouette Cameo was some cute Polaroid shapes from Kim Watson's blog. Once I saw the sketch at CD, I knew I could use my new diecuts! I also used my Silhouette Cameo for the title. Font is Lobster from dafont.com.

As for the products I used on my layout, I used the Peppermint collection from Crate Paper. It's the Christmas line from last year. I thought the colors were perfect for a hot chocolate page. They're not exactly Christmasy, but yet they are wintery and cozy. At first I diecut all 3 words in the title with my Cameo, but I didn't like how it looked with all of it diecut, so I replaced the "hot" with Thickers! Perfect balance, right? Silhouette Cameo AND Thickers. Oh yeah.

Well, that's it for today! Be sure to check out the Cocoa Daisy blog here to see the sketch challenge and all of their other inspiration!

A Winter Page

I'm sharing a layout I made last week that I scraplifted from a page I saw on the Lawn Fawn blog. I looooved the layering on the original page, and I knew I wanted to lift it the moment I saw it! The photo of my page didn't turn out too well because I don't have my nice lens anymore. I was borrowing an EF 50mm f/1.8 lens from a guy that my dad works with, and he needed it back. So, I ended up just ordering me my own this past weekend. Hopefully it'll come in soon because it takes sooo much better pictures than my kit lens.

Have a fab Wednesday!

Christmas Decorations

This past Sunday, I decorated my room for Christmas! It was super fun, especially since I have my Silhouette Cameo to make stuff with! Here's what I have done to make my room look festive:

-stapled wrapping paper to my bulletin board and covered the wood part of the board with red washi tape
-diecut snowmen with my Cameo and nestled them in some tinsel around my bedside lamp
-nativity scene (I actually have 2... A mini one and a larger one)
-diecut snowflakes and used them as confetti on my dresser
-made little banners for my mirror

I will hopefully be sharing a couple of tutorials soon... It's just that the Blogger app on my iPad mixes the photos all up and that's kinda bad if you're wanting to share a tutorial!

Ok. I fail.

I knew I couldn't post every Friday... I just can't post pics that often! ;) Today I am super excited because my Silhouette Cameo is sitting at my house RIGHT NOW, waiting for me to play with it!! Be sure to stay tuned for some of my projects I make with it!

Having fun with a Studio Calico Sketch

I'm sharing a card today that I made with the new Amy Tangerine "Ready, Set, Go!" line. I wasn't so sure I liked this collection at first, with all the basic colors and little quotes that I don't really use (ex. Meet Me in the Sunshine????) But I went to my LSS, The Scrapbook Princess, and I bought some papers from this collection just to play with. I ended up liking them! (Which actually shouldn't be a surprise... I like paper)

As for the Studio Calico sketch, I check the SC blog every once in a while, and one particular day I noticed a card sketch that I liked. So, I saved it to my iPad and made a card with it! You can check out the sketch here, along with a couple of more sketches that you might find inspiring.E

Thanks for visiting today!

A Mini Album

Nw, I know that you are sitting there in shock. I don't hardly ever share mini albums. So, enjoy, ok? ;)

I was brainstorming about doing an Instagram mini album one day, and I came with up with the idea of using washi tape to bind an accordion album together. I used my Instagram pictures that I have taken of my cute daycare kids, but because they're my daycare kids, I had to blur out their cute little faces for security reasons.

I used my October Afternoon " Woodland Park" collection for this mini because I bought basically all of the collection when it first came out at TwoPeas. I had the stickers, chipboard, brads, all the works. So I thought it would be fun to use off a cute little book of "my" kids. I think my favorite part about this collection is the chevron designs! And notice, not just patterned paper in chevron design, but WASHI in chevrons too! I have one question for my blog readers though, would you like a tutorial on how to make this album? I thought it might be too simple of a tutorial for you. ;) But I can if you think you would use it! Just leave a comment for me saying yay or nay for a tutorial.

On a different note, how's your scrappy Christmas coming along? Do you plan on using your scrappy skills for some projects, whether it be decorations, gifts, or gift wrap? I bought some cute little red chevron bags yesterday at TJMaxx that I'm SUPER excited about using for some little Christmas treats! ;) Have a fabulous Tuesday!

P. S. Ahh, the simple joys in life... Blogger updated their app so it is now a full screen on my iPad instead of a tiny iPhone sized screen on my iPad. Yay!

P. P. S. Sorry about the pictures all being mixed up... My iPad won't post them correctly. :(
