Personal Fitness Challenge in my HAPPY PLANNER™ {mambi}

Hello! This past Friday I had a post up on the me & my BIG ideas blog showcasing this personal fitness planner insert that I made. Check it out:

Amanda hosted a challenge last year entitled "A Mile a Day in March" which was just a simple challenge to walk/run/bike/etc. for one mile each day. I participated, and I think I only missed one day the entire month! I wanted to do it again this year, but we are going on vacation for Spring Break the last week of March (YAY!!) so I really just wanna be on vacay and not have to worry about fitness. :)

So I decided to take on the challenge early and make it last a month-- just not all of it is in March. And I threw in some additional challenges as well!

I made this grid checklist that encloses a little list for each day for me to check off. Want to know what's the hardest of those 4 items? No pop. Man, I just love drinking some DP with my pizza. It's totally just a habit, and I really need a break from it. So yeah. SO MUCH TEMPTATION over the past four days, but I'm going strong! I won't give up now!!

I also made a page that I can record my measurements throughout this little challenge. I'm really curious to see if anything changes!

Check out the full blog post HERE on the mambi blog-- there's more to read there! :)

Unboxing the Studio Calico SAVANNAH Documenter Kit

So last week while my friend Mecia was at my house after we came back from a vacation to Savannah, GA, we made an unboxing video of the Studio Calico Savannah Documenter kit! Since the kit was supposed to be inspired by Savannah, we wanted to see if it fit the vibes of the town. :)

I think we determined that it was semi-Savannah like.... but there are a ton of neutrals thrown in so you can use it for documenting everyday things.

You can view the video here, or check it out on YouTube HERE

me & my BIG ideas Happy Planner™ BLOG HOP

Welcome to the new 2016-2017 Happy Planner™ BLOG HOP featuring the new planners that are coming to the shop March 1st! I’m excited to show you the style of my new ‘Picture Quote’ Happy Planner and what I LOVE about this planner.

First of all, you should have come from April's blog, and if not. click HERE to start at the beginning of the hop at the me & my BIG ideas blog.

So at CHA, all of the design team ladies got to choose their own not-yet-released planner. All of these planners start in July of this year, which is kinda sad because mine's so pretty that I want to use it NOW!

I chose the "Picture Quote" planner. This one caught my eye because of the beautiful cover. I mean, doesn't this planner make you HAPPY just looking at it?! I'm all about happy. :)

Guess that's why it's called the Happy Planner™. :)

Here are some of my favorite monthly tabs. This planner features real photos with quotes layered on top of them. And that color that looks brown-ish in these photos is GOLD FOIL. Yes, gold foil. It's amaaaaazing.

This planner is all about simplicity as well, which I like! I aspire for simplicity.

Now hop on over to Mary-Ann's blog to take a peek at her planner!

CRAZY EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT! {hello heather}

So a few of you may have seen the blog post about the scrapbook line I had created in college (I deleted it later). Well, Melissa from Pretty Little Studio had commented on my Instagram post (I had also posted a sneak of the line there) and said something like, "Let me know if you want to print sometime." I immediately emailed her and asked her what she was talking about. I mean, was she for real offering to carry my line? Or was she offering just to print some papers for me to personally use? I didn't know.

So, I emailed her and she told me that she would love to have me be a designer for Pretty Little Studio. You know, like American Crafts has Dear Lizzy, Amy Tangerine, and Shimelle... Crate Paper has Maggie Holmes... So I was in SHOCK. WHAA??? Was that even a question? YEAH, I wanted to do that! This all happened while I was in LA attending CHA. So I had just been at the show all day, walking around, and I was dead tired. Then I got the email offer from Melissa and I could NOT sleep. Like, it literally took me a couple of hours to fall asleep.
All I could think of is "My dreams are coming true!" And indeed they are. :) :)

Above is a sneak photo that Melissa sent me of the finished products. How stinkin' GORGEOUS are they?! (I'm a little partial.) I haven't gotten the physical products in the mail yet, but as I told my friend MarLeah, I can't wait to hold my baby. <3 I worked intensely on finishing this line up for about 2-3 weeks, right after I got back from LA. I had a lot of it already done from my college project, but of course I had to tweak things and design more items. And now, it's ready.

Friday, February 26th is the release date, so mark it in your calendar! Two weeks from tomorrow and counting! :)
OH, and here's a sneak from the website: click HERE.

Project Life Process: 2016 Title Page

Hey everyone! I've finally started on documenting the year so far-- there's already been so much happen! I love it though. And it makes me super happy reliving all the memories when I put the photos in my Project Life album.

So here's the title page for my album. The best is yet to come! :)

Here's the video of the making of this page if you want to watch it! If this video isn't working, just click HERE to visit directly on YouTube.

This card was such a troublemaker. ;) I messed up 3 times on it!!

So I hope to make more process videos this year! They are fun to make! Do you like watching process videos? Would you like card making process videos? Layout making videos? I'm open to your ideas! :)

Valentines Part 1

Have I said I love Valentine's Day?! :) Valentines are one of my favorite projects to make. Here are two that I made to give out this year:

I made lots of handmade pom poms around Christmas time, so I decided Valentine's Day was for handmade tassels. I just winged it on how to make them, then I looked up a tutorial later. Heehee. Since I made them out of natural colored twine, the tassels kinda look like tiny mops. At least they're cute tiny mops. ;)

Here's the pile of the valentines I made! I'll share more later this week! :)

Floral Birthday Card

I am DETERMINED to share more projects this year. Last year so many of the things I made got sent off before being photographed, because frankly, I didn't care. But I WILL share more this year. I will, I will, I will. ;)

Anywho, here's a card I made a couple of weeks ago. I kept it uber simple. Simple has been my theme lately. I love this floral stamp from Studio Calico. It's so much fun to color in with inks or watercolors. This particular time I used my A Beautiful Mess inks and my Color Theory inks with my waterbrush. I found out that these inks are the BEST to use when wanting that watercolor look. I tried using some other ink pads I had, and it did NOT work at all. Hmm. Crazy how the formula of the ABM and SC inks work so well with water.

I'm all about some texture-- as long as I have 3 or more textures on one card, I'm happy. :)

Catch you later! :)

Washi Tube Valentines {mambi}

Have I told you I LOVE Valentine's Day?! Well, I do. It's my favorite holiday EVER. Maybe just because around this time there's lots of hearts and red and pink everywhere, which happen to be a few of my favorite things.

I've been busy making lots of different Valentines for my friends and family, and I am up on the me & my BIG ideas blog today showing these repurposed washi tape tubes!

First of all, if you want to visit the post on the mambi blog, click HERE. I will give a lot more details there than I will here. ;)

Basically for these, I hot glued some patterned paper onto a tube that the HAPPY PLANNER™ washi tape comes packaged in. I recently received the 7 (!!!) new washi tape sets that me & my BIG ideas released at CHA and so I had a lot of these empty tubes laying around. I KNEW I needed to DIY something with them. :)

For the woodgrain tube, I layered some clear white stickers on top of the patterned paper. I used lots of mushy gushy love phrases. :) There's also a large clear doily-looking sticker on the pink chevron tube, but it doesn't really show up well in the photos.

I used two new washi tape patterns (both hearts... both my new faves) along the top edges of the tubes to add some interest. Then I simply glued some paper on the "hangers" on top of the plastic tubes and embellished them with some more stickers.

I can't wait to give these to someone for V-Day. I might even stick a little note in with the treats. ;)

Have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Happy, Scrappy Mail

I absolutely love getting mail. Especially when it's new scrapbook goodies! I bought some new CHA releases from Paper Issues last week and got it in the mail yesterday. Let me tell you, it's pretty stinkin' cool to actually own products that I was drooling over at CHA just a few weeks ago.

Here's a pic of the loot! :D Such a pretty pile, right?!

Maggie Holmes Bloom
Maggie was my favorite designer I met at CHA. She was totally SWEET and seemed so humble about all the praise everyone was giving her (cause for real, at CHA it's all like, "I love your line! You're so talented!" over and over and over again). I think that reflected in what I bought. I got more of her line than any of the others! :P Not a prob. This line is gorgeous.

Dear Lizzy Happy Place-
Liz is always one of my favorites because I LOVE her use of color and fun designs. This line is no exception. I HAD to get that stamp set because of the "life is a party" phrase and the cute heart sunglasses. Plus, can you imagine how cute those little fruits will be stamped on a card?! I'm in love with the palm leaves and cacti in this line as well. This collection screams "SUMMER!" to me! :)

Amy Tangerine Better Together-
I loved the bold colors and Amy's handwriting in the Amy Tangerine Better Together line. The more I look at this line, the more I think I will be using it in the future (unknown future, I might add... lol) when I have a significant other. Plus this whole line was made on the idea of boy meets girl and they write each other postcards, make each other mixtapes, etc. So I guess it makes sense that I want to use it on lovey dovey things. :)

Oh, and Amy was adorable. She was so welcoming... she's the only one who came up to me as I was approaching the booth to give me a hug. :)

I am still waiting for Paige's "Fancy Free" line to come out... it's my absolute FAVORITE release of CHA. I told her that too. :)
