Project Life: Weeks 3 & 4

I finally put my PL pics on my iPad so I can share them with you! I love doing Project Life. It is a fun project to do when you don't exactly feel inspired to scrapbook or make a card. The PL for the current week right now is going to be FULL because I have had a lot of school functions going on. One of them is when I found out that I am my class's Valedictorian! Happy dance! This afternoon I have another reception to go to. What fun it is to be a Senior! :)

My new decor in my scraproom

I had seen these frames on Diana Fisher's blog, and I decided to make these for my own scrapbook room! I really liked how they turned out. All I had to buy was some frames from the thrift store. I got them for about $2 apiece. Pretty cheap decorations if you ask me!

All I did was spray paint the frames and then staple some string to the back of the frames. The two frames aren't exactly the same, but I think that's what adds the charm! :) The only thing I don't like is that they're not big enough for 12x12 layouts. Boo hoo. Oh we'll- they're perfect for cards! :)

Thanks for visiting, and thanks Diana for the inspiration!

A Thank You Card

Here's a card I made the other week with a Studio Calico sketch. I actually didn't even end up entering it in the sketch challenge because I couldn't get the SC gallery to work right. But, I still had tons o' fun making it. I used my NEW Studio Calico wood veneer alphas. Love them. So glad I bought them. Paper is from Crate's "Storyteller" line.

That's it for today! I would have shared my PL pages that I did this week, but then I didn't make time to take pictures of all of it. They're so hard to take pics of! Do you have any tips?

A Valentine's Day Card

What a happy Friday... We had delayed school again today because the roads were we supposed to be icy until 10:00. I think if we started school at 10:40 instead of 7:40 we would not have any grumpy people... Or anyway, we SHOULD be happy. ;)

I made a card yesterday with the new "Fourteen" line from Crate Paper. I loooove this line. The colors are just gorgeous! I was planning on making a non-Valentiney card to begin with, but I eventually just resigned to making a Valentine card since, after all, Valentine's Day isn't that far away. I used the card sketch over at Pamela's blog, which you can find by clicking here. I liked the little blocks of paper on the bottom of the card and I thought the heart that I fussy cut from one of the papers fit perfectly in the sketch! :) Thanks for stopping by!

EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Guess what? I can tell you my GOOD NEWS!! Ready?.......

Ready?....................

I am on the Pretty Little Studio Design Team! :) :) :)

When I opened my email and saw "Pretty Little Studio Design Team" in the subject line I just about died. Ok not really. But this is so exciting for me! This will be my first manufacturer design team and I am looking forward to designing with PLS's products! I love their stuff anyway, so this is a plus. I have applied to their design team a couple if times before and never got it, so I was shocked that they actually chose me! :O I cannot wait to get started! Be sure to check back and see my projects that I make with their products! They have a ca-ute new line called "Birthday Cake" that's coming out soon, so be on the lookout for it.

Also, I'm sharing some projects I have made with PLS's products.

Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Project Life: Weeks 1 & 2

Sorry... I tried posting this all day yesterday and the blogger app was being crazy. So, here's my post that was supposed to be posted yesterday...

While you are sitting in suspense from my last post (bwah ha ha), I will share with you my Project Life that I have done so far! I am using a brown Simple Stories Sn@p album and matching page protectors. [love] I received it from my Secret Santa from Club CK, Kristy! The moment I received my package, I knew I had to use the goodies for PL! ;)

I started out with the Everyday Eclectic line from Echo Park. I plan on switching collections throughout the book whenever I feel like it. I don't want to put too many boundaries on my Project Life album because I want to just have fun making it. I haven't ever tried PL before, so I am trying to give myself room to actually get it done.

I ended 2012 with a bang-- I went shopping at the mall with my friend Jillayne. She's so sweet. I had a lot of fun. I just had to include the picture of us shopping on the first page if my PL. I have done a kit if random stuff the first 2 weeks of this year... I would expound on each layout, but I think that might be kinda boring for you, the reader. ;)

Are you doing Project Life this year? Most of the pictures in my PL are Instagram pictures that I have taken with my iPad. They're not the best quality, but still-- I think I'll still be able to tell what they are years form now.

2 Challenges in One Layout

Happy Friday to all my blog readers! ;) We had delayed school today, so I only have to endure 4 hours of school instead of 7!!

Since I had a whole afternoon to scrapbook yesterday, I made a layout that goes for 2 different challenges. I used the sketch over at Artful Delight for this page (visit the Artful Delight blog here). I had already printed the square picture and so it fit perfectly with the sketch. I also made this layout for the challenge over at Love My Tapes to use washi tape in a shape (see the challenge here). I cut the butterfly and heart with my Cameo and then put washi tape over the shapes and cut the excess off. I like how they turned out! :) Well, thanks for stopping by!

Oh, and of course this post wouldn't be complete without a couple pictures of the snow!

Scraplifted Card

I recently bought my first full set of Lawn Fawn stamps and while I was googling the set, I found a card that I wants to lift! I looooved the circle of little ice cream cones and so I recreated it in my own way. I used my Crate Paper "Fourteen" mini pad for the papers. I paper pieced the little cones to make the different patterns. I hope to use this set more. I just love all of the little critters and things that Lawn Fawn makes in their stamp collections.

I just found out that we are getting out of school EARLY so I am going on and working my my Project Life! :)

A Color Combo Card

Color combo challenges always stump me. So, when I saw the aquamarine/taupe/white combo at ScrapFit (click here to go to the color challenge). I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it out. But, I saved the picture on my iPad anyway. ;) (I save the challenge pictures on my iPad and then browse my pictures for a challenge to do) I liked the sketch over at Artful Delight (click here to go to the Artful Delight blog) so I thought maybe if I had a color combo AND a sketch to use, I might be able to come up with a card. So, I got to work.

I recently bought Crate Paper's "Fourteen" collection and I just loooove the colors of this line. Lucky for me, there is some aquamarine in this collection! I loved the large chevron paper and so I just knew I had to use it on my card. Then I proceeded to find some pretty taupe colored embellishments... a corrugated Jillibean Soup circle, a Prima flower, and a chipboard doily from the Crate Paper collection I was talking about above. I added a white pennant and a transparent sentiment from Basic Grey's "Fact & Fiction" line.

I pretty much love this card. As I said, I'm not really all into the color combo thing, but I actually think I succeeded in this challenge! ;)

Documenting 12-12-12

Today's layout is a page that I have been wanting to make ever since I took the pictures that are documented here. First of all, I used a sketch from Pretty Little Studio (you can find it by clicking here). I just LOVE participating in their challenges. I find them so fun! When I saw this week's sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I liked the grid design, so I made a little window template in my Silhouette software and cut it out with my Cameo. I took all of these pictures with my iPad, so I was happy to be able to utilize the pictures in small format on my page since they're not the best quality.
I used Basic Grey's "Fact & Fiction" line for this page. I bought it all at JoAnn's when all of their scrapbook stuff was 40% off plus I had an extra 10% off coupon. I really like all the little items Jo's carries of this particular line! I was happy to get to use the supplies since they had sat in my scraproom for a couple of weeks without being opened!
One very time consuming technique I used on this layout was hand stitching. I hand stitched every inch of the grid. While I like how it looks, I don't have the "proper" tools to make hand stitching efficient. It took me a loooong time to get this page done. I think I used almost a whole skein of embroidery floss for this page!

Thanks for stopping by! :)
