Guesting for Artful Delight

Hello everyone!

I am the guest designer for May over at Artful Delight

I got to pick between their card kit and their scrapbook kit, and I chose to work with the scrapbook kit. It had a lot of cute products in it. Mainly what I was excited about was the 2-step misting template from Studio Calico! I ended up using it on 2 of my 3 projects! The mist "First Kiss" that comes in the kit is such a pretty shade of pink. It goes perfectly with the misting template!

For my first layout, I used the awesome Heidi Swapp sunburst paper. I highlighted the sun rays with some triangle stamps from the MME stamp set that came with the kit and some machine stitching. Then of course I used my "usual" layering.

This next layout I used a lot of the HS "Serendipity" papers to layer behind the photo and then some Amy Tan "Yes, Please" stickers to embellish it.

And you might think that you can only use that awesome misting template on layouts... Think again! I used it on a card!

I really enjoyed working with this kit. And I still have lots of it left! Yay! Thank you Leeanne for working with me and letting me guest design for your company! :)

Happy Memorial Day!

I'm up on the Love My Tapes blog with a layering technique using washi tape. Washi tape in LAYERING? Yup! You'll just have to check it out for yourself! Here's a peek of it though. ;)

Graduation :)

I thought I'd share a few photos of my graduation on Thursday. I'm so amazed that it's already over. I'm so happy... but in a good way! Sure, I'm going to miss parts of high school, but I'm ready to go on with my life.

I had to give my Valedictorian speech. It went well. I wasn't as nervous as I have been before when giving speeches. It was a beautiful day for a graduation though, and I'm so happy and thankful it was.

Katelyn, me and MarLeah. Katelyn and MarLeah travelled from Missouri just for my graduation. :)

Favorite part of the whole ceremony! I'm glad MarLeah got this picture on her camera. I was actually so excited to throw my hat I did it too early... Oops. ;P

It's all over now!! It's kinda weird. I'll be back Monday with a fun little washi project, so stay tuned!

13 Months... One of my favorite little people :)

Today is sketch challenge day over at Pretty Little Studio!

My layout this week is about my cute little cousin, Blaine. I adore him. I try to take pictures of him (and his brother) whenever I get the chance. And I love scrapping them! Blaine is just so adorable and cute and sweet and adorable and .... I could go on forever. Like my title on this pose says, he's one of my favorite little people. :)

In other news, I have been so busy lately!! We are still working on some major changes around here. Plus we've had graduations, a wedding, and everything in between to go to! And then this week is my graduation! Thursday is the day!! Eeekkk! I'm so excited! Today is my last "actual" day of school. Just catching up some exams and trying hard to finish the yearbook so I don't have to come back tomorrow. I will be so glad when May is over! I never thought I'd say that.

Again, sorry this picture is blocky. I don't know what is with my Blogger app!!

One more...

Happy Friday! Whoo, it seems like it's been Friday for days. Wednesday seemed like Friday, Thursday seemed like Friday, and finally! It's now Friday!! I got in some scrappy time last night since I packed all of my "to do" stuff into Wednesday. And I have my speech written! Yay! I like how it turned out. I hope everyone else likes it too! Six days and counting...

I dug out my Maggie Holmes collection for this page. I haven't used it in a bit, and I thought it'd go well with my picture I chose to use. Two great reasons in one, right? I used a Paper Bakery Kit Sketch for this layout. The only thing I really "changed" is I used hand stitched chevrons instead of arrows. I like the subtle touch it gives my overall layout. I think if I would have used arrows, it would have drawn away from the overall design. The stitched chevrons were made with the Amy Tangerine hand stitching templates from Amy's Yes, Please collection. I love them but I have to sych myself up to use them because hand stitching is so time consuming... I always love the texture it gives though. Maybe I should try adding it more often!

Having Fun with Free Files

I have been downloading lots of free cut files for my Silhouette ever since National Scrapbook Day and I got to play along with the challenge at Chic Tags to use their arrow diecuts! (Ok, we'll, it was to use any arrows, but you could use their cut files too) I loved this challenge! I even cut the FREE chevron arrow shape from the Chic Tags store and sewed them on the background of my page.

I used the My Girl collection again from Echo Park. I mixed some of the colorful patterns with some scraps I've had laying around in my scrap tray for a while. It worked pretty well! I thought it would look a little better than using just the papers in the one collection. I think it looks a lot less "matchy matchy" this way.

Only one week and a day till graduation! I have half of my speech written... Gotta finish it either today or tomorrow. :)

P.S. Sorry these pictures are blocky. I updated my blogger app on my iPad and for some reason it uploads my pictures all blocky looking... :(

In other news, I have a tutorial up at Pretty Little Studio today! Here's a peek:

Happy Mother's Day!

Just wanted to wish every mother out there a Happy Mother's Day today! I'm not a mother by no means, but I love my mom. I'm so blessed to have a mom that cares about me and is just awesome! :) So, in lieu of this day, I thought I'd share the card I made for my mom for this special day. I used the Sweet Girl collection from Echo Park that I just bought from Hobby Lobby! I love it so much! These photos show the collection to have red in it, when in reality, it's hot pink (much prettier in person!!).

Oh and look at this-- I bought this little Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Isn't it a perfect perch for my cards?

Ok, so I have another thing to share with you today. A "manly" birthday card! This one's for my brother who will be turning 23 a day after I graduate!

So, if you want I see the whole project,, then click HERE to visit the Pretty Little Studio blog! Thanks for stopping by! Come back tomorrow for another fun post! :)

SMILE layout

Happy Monday!

Wow, I can't believe I graduate two weeks from this Thursday! :) Very surreal. I have yet to write my Valedictorian speech and so I kinda need to work on that! I just have to have some inspiration... and I have none as of right now. Wow. Hope I get some soon, right?

Ok, so this is a layout I sent in to CK for one of their calls and it didn't get picked up. [sigh] Like all the others I've submitted... Anyway, it's actually one of my favorite layouts I've ever made. It's kinda artsy. And I like that. Plus I used the beautiful Maggie Holmes collection from Crate Paper for this, and that's one of my favorite collections. :)

You know me... that's it for today!

Winner & San Francisco Pics!! :)

Today is the day. Today is the day I get to share a few of my San Francisco pictures with you! But first, let me announce the winner from the Love My Tapes/ Pretty Little Studio blog hop. And the winner is...

Chantal Vandenberg!!

Chantal, please email me at limegreen(dot)flower(at)juno(dot)com within 7 days. If I don't hear from you by next Friday, I'll have to pick another winner. Thanks for hopping along, everyone! :)

So now on to pictures! I loved the trip. I'm so glad we got to go and that my dad got to chaperone! It will definitely be a fond memory of my senior year of high school. :) I think my favorite part was going to the Golden Gate Bridge. Totally loved it. It was so, like, ahhhhhh WOW! We actually went to the bridge twice. Once in the evening and once in the afternoon. The best food I ate was at Fishermen's Wharf. Fresh seafood at Fog Harbor. I ate shrimp, swordfish, and salmon and it was oh-so-good. The shrimp was soooo good. It was also the most expensive meal I ate too! But I can still taste it... mmmm....

I could write so much about our trip, but I'm going to stop for now and just show you the pictures I have to share. I took 555 pics total, so this is just a sampling.

Happy Friday! :)

Color Challenge {PLS}

There's a new post up on the Pretty Little Studio blog today! And it's a color challenge! This was a little different for me because I usually do not like doing color challenges and narrowing down the colors I can use on a project. But, I liked this one! Neutrals and green... Awesome! Check out how I interpreted the photo HERE!

4 in 1

How many challenges can you fit into one layout? Well, for me, I packed FOUR into one page! I usually don't do that many in one layout, but I really wanted to do all of these challenges! So, I'm going to link up all the challenges I did this one page for and you can see how I interpreted each one!

Paper Bakery Kits Sketch

Scrapbook Circle Springtime Hues

Scrap Your Story Journaling

Paper Lovers Studio Heat Embossing Resist

This is the first layout I've made of my trip to San Francisco, with many more to come! I plan on making a mini album with all the pictures I took, but I want to scrapbook the pics too. I still have yet to edit all 555 photos. It'll take a while...

And if you're here for the Love My Tapes/ Pretty Little Studio blog hop, then scroll down to yesterday's post. :)
