Job 23:10 (my last SFTIO project!)

I'm sharing my very last layout for SFTIO today! :'-( I decided not to continue on the design team for another 6 months, since I'll be starting college this fall. I will miss it, but I thought this was the best decision for right now.

So here's my last project:

Here's a little bit I have on the SFTIO post today. I wanted to share it here too.

"But he knoweth the way that I take." Whether that path is straight and easy-going or hilly and curvy. It's a comfort for me to know that my Heavenly Father knows me and cares for me. And HE knows where I'm going. I don't know how many times I have referred to this verse over the past year or so. And it's in the book of Job, of all places! Do you know how much Job had to go through?! Basically all of his belongings taken away or destroyed, including his family! And he still said, "God knows the way I take." Wow. What a challenge. Through everything you go through, you can still have God as your guide. :)

Just a few words of encouragement! :) And thank you Scrapbooking from the Inside Out for the awesome time!

Life is Good

Yay for another SFTIO project! This page is totally "me."

This page is pretty funky because it's a 8.5x11 inch page turned sideways! That's because I had already trimmed a couple of inches off the map background paper and so if I would have turned it the other way it would have been sideways. But hey, it worked. I think it looks pretty cool, myself. :)

I made this page about how I am satisfied with my life right now and the direction that I'm going.

My journaling reads: "I'm pretty satisfied with where I am in life right now. Sometimes I get antsy on days that are super lazy, stay-at-home-all-day days. I like doing stuff. I want to TRAVEL. But I read somewhere that "it's okay to live a calm life." A crazy calm life, yes. Haha. Seems like this year has flown by so far. So I'm trying to enjoy this stage in my life." (Of course I had to add in that I want to TRAVEL because one, I want to travel. And two, there are so many cute traveling icons in this month's kit! Blends perfectly.)

I absolutely love the 3x4 journaling cards in this month's kit. You can do so many cute things with them. Simple things like lining them up, like I did here, or making cards with them, or making a grid pattern layout, or… lots of possibilities!

Be sure to check out the SFTIO blog today to read my other post about this page! :)

I Don't Know About You...

But I'm feelin' 22! Ok, I'll stop singing Taylor Swift. LOL

I made this card for my brother for this 22nd birthday this year. :) I mixed together bits and pieces from Basic Grey's "Clippings" line and "Hipster" line. I love it when lines will mix together so well!

The background paper was a little wild, so I used some paint to lessen the craziness.

Just a little post today! :)

Sunset in the City

So, I've kinda fallen in love with the artsy look on scrapbook pages. I love using gesso, paint, gelatos, etc. to create unique layouts. Here's a layout I made a few weeks ago and am just getting around to sharing. I know, shame on me.

I actually laid the diecut stars (it was a background diecut) on the layout then painted over them with white paint. Then, I lifted off the stars and used a chevron roller stamp from Glitz to add some texture to the white paint. After the paint dried on the stars, I used some blue watercolors to add some color. Very slight and subtle color. After everything was dry, I put the star diecuts back on the page, but at a slight angle. So it stars didn't match up perfectly with the painted negative. I also splattered some light blue mist drops onto the page, too.

Totally used my stash on this layout. Most of the products I used are from Basic Grey's "Hipster" line and "Fact and Fiction" line.

You might notice something odd on this page-- that there's no journaling! Yeah, I noticed that after I finished the page. Actually, I started writing straight on the background and it was WAY too busy, so I used the black and white triangle washi tape to cover up my boo-boo. I added some journaling on the back of the layout.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend! I'm hoping to scrapbook some this weekend! :)

Not All Who Wander...

Hey! Goodness gracious. Another week has flown by! Wish I would have scheduled some posts, because I do have projects to share! Just realized that I haven't posted since last Thursday! Shame on me…

So I'm up on the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out blog today with another layout I made with this month's "Direction" kit. Here's the layout I'm sharing today:

I saw the title diecut on Pinterest. I've had it pinned for a while, and when I found out that this month's theme was direction, I immediately cut it out so I could use it on a project. :) I went really simple on this page… I had to refrain from adding more and more elements to the page. 'Cause simple is not "me." And as you can tell, I'm not that great at photographing white-on-white. I don't know the secret to that! It's too washed out… oh well. Someday I'll learn. This will do for now.

If you want to read more about this layout, I'm blogging about it at SFTIO.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Roads

Hey there! It's hard to believe that it's JUNE! Absolute craziness. I feel like an old person. From day to day, it seems like it drags. But then a month goes by and you're like, Where did that go?!

So I'm sharing a layout that I almost threw away… let me explain.

Included in this month's "Direction" kit is this AWESOME gold vellum map from Chic Tags. I wanted to use the whole thing on an art page. It's see-through, so I decided to put strips of paper behind it. So I did that and then I doodled a quote that I found on Pinterest on it.

Umm… it looked awful.

Every time I looked at it, I hated it. So I tore the map off and built a whole new page. There are places where the paper ripped a little bit, but I think that just adds character to that page. ;) And I think I can reuse the map vellum. That is, if I want "Go confidently in the direction in your dreams" on a layout… So here's what I came up with on try #2:

So much better, right? I really love that there are LOTS of different textures on this page. Texture makes me happy. :) The distress paint in the kit this month is so awesome. I think I'm in love with paint right now. Instead of being in love with boys. LOL Sewing, wood veneer, paper, stickers, paper clip, thickers, aaahhhh… love it.

By the way, I blogged more about this page on the SFTIO blog today. I like the story behind this page, so I'd love for you to check out what it's all about. :)

Have a FAB Thursday! Fun fact of the day: Thursdays are, like, my favorite day of the week. One day from being Friday. Oh yeah.

June SFTIO Reveal!

Today's my last kit reveal with Scrapbooking from the Inside Out. My term is through June and I decided not to continue on for another 6 months. I have loved being on the team and creating lots of INSIDE OUT projects. I think it's good for team members to change around so you can see different perspectives, especially since SFTIO is all about scrapping more than just your everyday photos and stories. I wish all the best to SFTIO! I will miss you, but I'm very thankful to have been on your fabulous team!

With that being said, let's get to the kit reveal! This month the kit is called "Direction." I came up with all sorts of ideas for this theme,
but I had to calm down and channel my thoughts. As usual.

The paper in this kit is from the Sightseeing Stew line from Jillibean Soup and the Mon Ami line by Kelly Purkey for Basic Grey. There are SO many cute patterns in this kit. I *may have saved a pattern or two for my own use. ;) Err, I actually only saved one that I thought was super cute and couldn't bring myself to cut up. It's THIS paper from Jillibean Soup. It'll totally be awesome for documenting my travels that I have yet to take. LOL

Embellishments this month include a sticker sheet from the Mon Ami line, cork arrows and puffy stickers from American Crafts, Studio Calico word stickers, chipboard geotags from Studio Calico, wood veneer shapes from Chic Tags (SUPER cute!), diecuts and wooden buttons from Jillibean (I think those wooden buttons are from Jillibean, anyway), and some AWESOME distress paint in "Faded Jeans." Also included are some Thickers in the "Printshop" font. Possibly my favorite font ever. I actually had ordered these Thickers before I got this kit and once I saw that the kit had them too, I was like, "Aww man!" But then later I realized that I loved them, and now I'm glad I have two packs of them. They will get used. :)

And my projects:

This month I did a couple different things. I made two 8.5x11 pages (one of them is horizontal, too! I've honestly never seen a horizontal 8.5x11 page, but now I've made one!) I also made one 12x12 art journal page. Well, I like to think of it as more of an art journal page. I didn't use a photo on it and I went a little crazy-artsy on it. :)

Can't wait to share more on these projects soon! So, which project is your favorite this month? Mine is that top right one. It makes me happy.
