Whew- this weekend was very busy! I did a lot of chores plus helped my dad move my little sister’s furniture into my brother’s old room. And I helped move my brother’s furniture into my sister’s old room. Ugh-- I am so not a muscle girl…
Anyway. I did manage to get some cards made this weekend between everything. First, I am going to share a card that I made for the ScrapFIT challenge to use TWINE. I loooove using baker’s twine, and so of course I snagged this opportunity to use it! I have always thought it would be cool to write something in twine, so I used that technique on this card. First, I lightly wrote the sentiment with a pencil. Then I applied some Glossy Accents and twirled the twine into place. Last I cut out around the words. I like how it turned out!
As for the card itself, I used Cosmo Cricket’s 2wenty Thr3e line for everything except the twine! I have always thought this collection was uber-cute because of the colors! The way the patterns are, though, is not my style at all! I still love it though so that‘s why I used it on this card. When I showed the finished card to my sister (the one I go to for all opinions- whether I actually listen her opinions them or not), she said, “It’s cute… not your style, but I like it!” I think this card is more of her style, actually.
Here’s card #2 I did this weekend! This one’s for the PHONE challenge over at Frosted Designs. When I saw the challenge, I immediately thought of the Neapolitan Bisque line from Jillibean Soup. This line has all kinds of cute little phone icons and little sayings and pus to go along with the phone theme. Jillibean is one of my all-time favorite companies, so of course I had some super kind of fun making this card. One thing I really like about this card is the “IMPORTANT” journaling card I used as kind of a matting behind the embellishments. So it looks like the sentiment reads: “Important: Keep in Touch.”
And last but not least, my favorite card that I made this weekend. Again, I used Jillibean Soup goodies. But not the same line as the last card. This time I used the Coconut Lime line from Jillibean. This card is for the BIRTHDAY CARD challenge over at the Jillibean Soup Blog.
They’re having a 4th birthday party and one of their challenges is to make any kind of birthday card! I used a TON of patterns on just this one card. I think I counted 6 different patterns. I think that’s a record for me. ;) And you wanna know my favorite thing about all the cards on this blog post?? I designed them all! Yep- I came up with all 3 of these cards by myself. It always makes me feel good when I design something myself instead of using a sketch or lifting someone else’s card because I feel like the card is REALLY my own.
Ok- thanks for bearing through a long post on a Monday! Maybe it gave you something to do. :) Keep checking my blog because I *should* have some fun sneak peeks of what’s going on in my scraproom soon!
