A Braddy Layout

Hi! I'm out of school for Presidents' Day today (just a weather day, really) and I completed a layout for the Frosted Designs Fabulous Friday Challenge to use brads or eyelets on your project! You can find the challenge here.
I have had this Jillibean Soup "Chicken Soup" paper for what seems like a while (some of it over 6 months, then I bought some more goodies to match back in Nov./ Dec.) with scrapping our animals in mind. Well, we got baby goats January 31st (on a Tuesday) and the momma died the following Saturday. :( So now we have little orphan goaties. We feed them formula in baby bottles now. I thought this paper was "appropriate" for this page.
It's kinda funny... I started out with a TOTALLY different approach to this layout, then I decided I didn't like it and just made it up as I went along! This is my first layout that I really like how I layered everything. (Maybe I AM finally getting the hang of it!)

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Jillibean Soup
Cardstock: Stampin' Up!, The Paper Studio
Brads: The Paper Studio, Target, American Crafts
Letter Stickers: Making Memories, Jillibean Soup (question mark: American Crafts)
Buttons: Michael's, American Crafts, other
Pen: American Crafts
Stickers: Jillibean Soup
Other: Burlap

In all, I used 23 brads on this layout! Wow! What a stretch for me; I hardly ever use brads!

A Jillibean Soup Layout!

Happy Saturday!! I am so excited I have a three day weekend and I'm hoping to scrap a lot! My mom is going to scrap with me too! :)

I made this layout last week just for fun- not for ANY challenges! This time, I was inspired by both the pictures and the cute Jillibean Soup "Sweet and Sour Soup" paper. And see that cute flower shape I used for the title? I repurposed that from the package of corrugated frames that I got and I thought it went perfect on this layout.

The "two" letters are my faaaaavorite font ever! It's the new Amy Tangerine line. I was looking for these and I went to my LSS and they had them! Woo hoo! It was the last pack of them too! I was so excited to get them!

Hope you have a scrappy day today! :)

A Mini Album!!

First of all, MarLeah, if you're reading this, STOP! Ok. Now I'll go on. :)

Over at Frosted Designs, the Fabulous Friday challenge was to use something new on your project. I took that to mean a new way to make a mini album! On her blog, Amanda showed this awesome technique to make your own binding for your mini album back in November or December and I have really been wanting to try it out! I made my December Daily album with that technique, but I used paper for the binding and it was a little too stiff to flip through the album easily. SO, this time I used fabric. It worked great! We'll see how it holds up. I used my ATG to glue it all together along with some glue dots.

I bought a Crate Paper Restoration collection pack from Hobby Lobby with a mini album in mind, and so that's what I used on this album. You want to know what my LEAST favorite page is of this album?? The cover!! It didn't turn out like I wanted it to... :( My mom said "Well, redo it!" Umm.... I'm not going to take the time! LOL

The only products I used that wasn't Crate Paper was the American Crafts Thickers, some Authentique ({looooveeeee}) and Glitz Design mini letter stickers, journaling tag for the back of the album, and the baker's twine.

A note to MarLeah-- if you looked at this, then it'll be your fault you're not surprised when you get it in the mail... LOL :P

I'm a Guest Designer over at Love Joy Paper!

I was so honored when Amanda from Love Joy Paper asked me to guest design for her October challenge! It was really exciting for me because for one) I love Amanda's work and two) I love taking on a scrappy challenge! The challege was to scrap a favorite, and I immediately thought of my <3 for Lifesavers gummies! I used bright colors on my layout to convey the colors of the gummies. The pictures were really fun to take because I got to go buy a WHOLE BAG of gummies just for the photoshoot! :) They were gone in a couple of days.

I actually scraplifted this layout from a recent Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine! It was originally in 8.5 x 11 format and I enlarged it to 12 x 12. I really like how it turned out!

Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Echo Park (pink), My Little Shoebox (green), Sassafra (red),
Pretty Little Studio (yellow)
Twine: The Twinery
Title Stickers: American Crafts
Rhinestone Brads: American Crafts
Mini Pink Letters: My Little Shoebox
Scalloped Punch: Fiskars
Black Pen: American Crafts

Don't forget to hop on over to Love Joy Paper's October Challenge and participate in the challenge! I know it'll be super FUN! :)
