Inspiring Me Right Now

I got an order from Two Peas in a Bucket right before I left for Missouri (where I am right now), so I have lots of product waiting for me at home! :)

So here's what I ordered:

Awesome phrase Thickers... can't wait to use these!

At first, I wasn't really crazy about the Plus One line from Amy Tangerine, but then I realized probably half of my order was Plus One goodies! I guess the black and white patterns really stood out to me!

These Dear Lizzy Daydreamer buttons stood out to me. I love dimension, and these will definitely add that to my projects.

I don't actually have this beautiful mini pad... it wasn't in stock. Boo hoo. Hopefully I'll get it soon!

Gold labels? Yes, please. These are actually larger than I expected.

So excited about these! If I was doing Project Life, these would be PERFECT. But I'm not... and these will still be used a lot in my scrapbooking and card making.

These stickers are actually kinda vellum-looking. Pretty neat, if you ask me!

I bought a few more items than I'm posting here, but I won't bore you with EVERY SINGLE item I bought. ;)

Toodles!
And I have another post up today, so scroll down and see what I'm up to!

Sneak sneak

I know we're not even done with the month of February yet, but I just HAVE to share some sneaks of my March SFTIO projects with you! It's kind of funny-- after I put all the photos of my pages together, I realized that I stuck to basically one color for each page. Can you tell just from these sneaks? :) I'm SO excited to share these projects come March 1st!

Go with the Flow

It's time for another "behind the scenes" look at a layout I made with this month's "Intention" kit.

This might be my favorite project I made this month. Probably because it showcases so many of the awesome patterns in this month's kit! I'm always up for using lots of patterns on my layouts. :) So, to use lots of patterns on this page without it being overwhelming, I cut lots of arrows with my Silhouette Cameo in lots of different patterns and colors.

At first my idea was to make the arrows go in all different directions, but I thought that would look too crazy. Kind of like I just sneezed arrows. LOL I actually just started laying out the arrows and decided that I liked them going diagonally across the page. I think it's a lot more cohesive that way. Plus the patterns look awesome against the black background.

It's so fun when creating a layout to just keep adding stuff. On this page, I had adhered all of the arrows. (Did you notice that I doodled some of them with the white galaxy marker included in this month's kit?) Then I decided to add some chevron bling. Next, I added some word stickers from the Glitz "Wild & Free" sticker sheet. Last, I added some stitching (because I can't leave a layout without stitching!). Sometimes I leave the page and then come back to it the next day or so and add more and more on until I'm happy with the outcome. I think it's my new way of scrapping-- add and add until you're happy! :)

Alright- thanks for joining me for another SFTIO post! Be sure to check out the "emotional" side to this page on the SFTIO blog

Snow + Beach

This past week we played in the snow and also went to the beach… all in one week! Crazy, right?

Wednesday night it snowed. It was so beautiful. We kept looking out the window to see if it was still snowing. We ended up getting 3-4 inches. Probably the most I have ever seen in Alabama. :P So, Thursday we got up earlier than normal and played in the snow! Dad and I were trying to find stuff in the basement to make a sled, but alas. Everything that would have worked was in the storage shed. Aww man. Then! Epiphany! We found an air mattress in the garage sale stuff! Yay! Talk about redneckin' it. LOL It was awesome though. We live on a hill, so we had plenty of steep hill to sled down. Laura and I eventually popped the mattress by hitting a stick. Oops.

Oh! And the best part about the snow? It all melted before noon. Now that's the kind of snow I like! It falls, you play in it, then it goes away.

We made a snow family!

Then Friday we made a little mini trip to the beach! We only live 5 hours away, and seriously. Why we don't go more often?? The last time I have been to the beach was 2008. And before that, it was… a long time ago. We always enjoy going to the beach whenever we actually make it down there. So, I don't know why our trips there are few and far between.

No, we couldn't swim in the ocean. It was too cold. But, it was nice. 55-66 degrees. It was windy the first day we were there, but Sunday was good. Almost a little warm! We were only there two nights, but it was so nice. We NEEDED a getaway. And next week I'm going to Missouri. Yay! I love to travel!! :)

I love feet photos... not exactly my own feet, but I still like feet photos.

A Birthday Card

Hey there! Hope y'all had a fabulous Valentine's Day!

I have a card to share today that I made for my very good friend, Megan. I was looking at my calendar the other day and thought "Megan's birthday is, like, two days away! I should send her a card!" For some reason, I didn't transfer all my birthday dates to my 2014 calendar (very strange of me… where was my mind??) and so it was just coincidence that I thought of her birthday! I'm not really good at remembering birthdays. That's why I have a calendar. ;)

Anyway, I wanted to make a really FUN card in a short amount of time. I started out with some Dear Lizzy "Lucky Charm" chipboard. I love chipboard. It's a great way to add dimension to your projects! I should buy more chipboard in the future…. I honestly don't have that much as of right now! (My goodness-- I ramble!)

Kits are fabulous for getting things done quickly. So I got out my scraps from the SFTIO "Belonging" Kit (October 2013) and cut them into random-width strips and made a starburst out them. Then I added some brown mist splotches. Next came the brown paper bag type circle, my alphas, and the chipboard circles. I used quite a bit of machine stitching on this card. I think it is the perfect finishing touch!

Most of the papers are from the "Recorded" line by Allison Kreft.

Thanks for stopping by! I ALWAYS enjoy reading your comments! They make my day! :)

Behind the Art

Today is my day at SFTIO to share a little "behind the scenes" look at one of my layouts. So here's today's project:

I had this idea to make a little clothesline (inspired by the awesome little white glittery clothespins in this month's kit), so I played around with it a bit- adding patterned papers, paper clips, and wood veneer to the mix. I chose an ombre pink paper from MME for the background (I thought it looked super cool!) and I added some pink mist splatters for a little more of the "messy" effect.

I love that I got to mix so many different textures on this layout. What I love best! :)

That's just a peek of this page. You can find more about this layout in my post over at SFTIO HERE.

Have a fabulous Thursday! :)

Mini Album

I have a mini album to share today! My brother got engaged to his girlfriend around Christmas, and so I knew I had to make a little mini album for them.

I used pictures from Nathan's phone, so they aren't the best photos. BUT, maybe it will remind them of their dating days. :) I used the Crate Paper "Love Notes" collection for this album. Love that collection, and all the little phrases in it went perfect with my pictures!

Oh-- and here are a couple of photos of their engagement session! :)

Ok toodles for now!

Y'all are My Favorite

Hello! I made this layout last week, and I have been itching to share it here on my blog! Just waiting for   time to write a blog post. :)

These are the last of the photos from our "girl weekend" that I hadn't scrapped. We  took these with my ipad, so they're not the best. But it also captures the moment. So why not document them?

I LOVE Paige Evans' style. All of the patterns on her pages just make me happy. So, I took on a little bit of her style (I still think this is my style, but I have a little bit of "Paige" feel on this layout.).

I used my awesome new punch that I bought from Hobby Lobby to punch out all of the hearts. I have just scraps left from my Maggie Holmes "Flea Market" line so I stretched those into something fun. It's so much prettier using scraps like this than just collaging them together into one big background. I also used some scraps from "The Pier" line and also some awesome gold glitter paper that I bought from Hobby Lobby. Glitter paper is my new favorite product. It's awesome to diecut. :)

I love texture on my pages, so I used some chipboard hearts, wood veneer, and bows to add some fun to the hearts.

Oh-- I have a question. Should it be "favorite" or "favorites"? I guess if I was meaning favorite people, it would make sense. But then again, I almost think that it sounds weird without the "s." Let me know! :)

My Scrap Space

I don't think I have shared my new scrap space here on my blog… so here it is!

We do not have a scrapbook room in our new house (yet!), so all of my scrapbook stuff is situated on one wall in my bedroom. It seems a little cluttered to me but I am learning how to deal with it and I'm also learning how to make it look prettier and more cohesive as I go. For example, I invested in some new wire baskets that are more neutral colors so they match my bedroom better. Before, I had PINK and BLUE bins. Now they're brown chicken wire and gray wire. I bought most of all my new organizers at Hobby Lobby.

I really wanted the window in my room to be over my desk (pretty natural light!), so we made sure that happened when deciding where to place all of my furniture in my room. Once I get it completely decorated, I'll share pictures of my room.

Hope you enjoyed looking at my small scrapping space! :)

Scrapbooking from the Inside Out BLOG HOP

Hello there and welcome to the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out blog hop! If you're just coming in on all the fun, make sure you start at Melissa's blog and hop from there.

I haven't exactly gotten on the bandwagon for OLW (One Little Word), but if I had to pick a word for me to focus on in 2014, it would be ENJOY. It seems like lately (like since I have graduated), I have thought about the future and how I wish this or that would happen, and I have had to tell myself to just slow down and enjoy life as it is right now. Enjoy not having anything do to besides scrapbook and go to work. Enjoy being single. Enjoy not having *that many bills to pay.

So.

Here's my page I made:

I used this page as the chance to scrapbook a few of my current goals. Right now I am focusing on 1) getting a scholarship and attending college… hopefully this fall 2) save more and 3) enjoy life right now and trust God more. I know He knows what He has in store for my life and I just need to focus on living right now. Stop thinking
"I wish that I were _____." I annoy myself sometimes with thoughts like that.

I LOVED the dreamcatcher piece of paper from the February Intention kit (from the Glitz Design "Wild & Free" line) and so I used that as literal symbolism… catching my dreams. I also used that awesome speech bubble paper clip to symbolize that I keep telling myself, "Enjoy the journey."

I hope you have enjoyed learning a little about my OLW and so now it's time for a giveaway! I haven't done a giveaway on my blog in a while, so I thought it was TIME. So, leave me a comment and you just might win this gold glittery goodness (say that 10 times fast). Comments will close Saturday night at 9 pm Pacific time and I will pick a winner after that and post it here on my blog. Plus commenting will also give you one more chance to win the SFTIO prize!

Now after you comment, hop on over to the SFTIO blog where Rachel has something for you! :)
